"SOLVED" Fade out to stop selected clip button issue
Hello,
I created a button that fades out the volume of a selected clip to silence, then stops the clip, and finally resets the volume back to normal. This works as expected when I’m just playing clips.
However, I’m encountering an issue when I use this button to fade out a selected clip while simultaneously starting a recording on a new clip. The new clip stops recording as soon as the faded clip reaches silence, and the silent clip does not stop as intended.
I also noticed that the “FREE” button—which sets Play and Rec quantization to None—starts blinking while I use the fade button. This might be related to the problem.

Could you possibly upload still screenshots? They are easier to examine than trying to start and stop the video
And if you could zip and upload the project that might be helpful.
Thank you always
I figured out the issue: it happens when I select another clip while the first clip is fading out.
That’s why the new clip stops instead of the first one.
What I’d like to achieve is having clips that automatically fade out over time, even as I add new clips.
I tried using Overdub Feedback, which is the closest solution I’ve found, but it doesn’t create a true automatic fade—it just lowers the volume as new layers are added.
Is there a way to have clips fade out on their own, independently of overdubbing, while I continue to add new clips?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I think you will have to set up a button for each clip you might want to fade out so the fade is directed at the specific clip rather than at the selection clip.
Thank you again.
I’ll give it a try.
I suppose there are some limits to how many effects I can control with just a few buttons.
