Joe Hill
This is my take on an old American folk song about the labor rights activist, Joe Hill. It’s been recorded by a few people, most notably Joan Baez. Spoken word vocals by Seamus Connelly, aka The Great Shamoozey.

Did you know he was a Swede? Nice subject and song.
Joel Emmanuel Hagglund. Not only a Swede, but a great American.
Very cool. I love music as underscoring for the spoken word, which is how I would characterize this. The sound of the music contrasts with and compliments the subject matter nicely.
Oh, Joe Hill is also the pen name of a son of Stephen King who wrote a couple of really imaginative books.
Woodstock
Hi Boomer! This one was fun. I tried several different tempos until I found one that seemed to match. I used Piano Motifs to create a 16 bar pattern that I played over a bunch of different synths that I recorded separately. I spent my Independence Day assembling them while sitting on my patio watching our flag blow in the breeze. It was a nice day. Hope yours was nice, too. Still have two days off! We’re going to see a one-off showing of Spinal Tap this afternoon at Hollywood Boulevard. It goes to 11.
Liked it. Especially the guitar at the end. Love to hear you do some Robert Service with him. You know, The Cremation of Sam McGee (I think). ~~~~ Or even part of The Congo.
I was not familiar with Robert Service. I just did a search. There are strange things done in the midnight sun. I like it.
I doubt if I can get Shamoozey to recite it, though. He is a bit of a free spirit. He does whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
Maybe I'll give it a try using the built-in microphone, in my Captain Beefheart voice.
I'm not in much of a mood to do anything at the moment. I am still trying to wrap my head around the tragedy in Texas. It was supposed to be such a nice little summer camp experience for the kids. Lots of stories, cute pictures and videos. Now I can only think of the parents waiting for the phone call. Been there, done that. Life will never be the same. Say a prayer or two.
