JWM - José's Serenata (Trance done in Gadget 3, a birthday gift for my brother-in-law)
A birthday gift for my brother-in-law Tony for his 61st birthday. Created 100% in Gadget with external drum samples in a couple instances of Bilbao. Mastered in FL Studio Mobile with Leveller, Multiband Compressor, Limiter, and Analyser to insure the track was around -14LuFS.
Please enjoy, and look out for the surprise before the main build-up. ![]()

Very cool! I like how it goes from underground warehouse trance to a Mariachi band. What a contradiction! I think I actually laughed out loud. Very much out of the box, creative thinking. Very well done. Hope you’re having a good day. I’m taking the day off with absolutely no idea of what to do. Peace, bro.
Thank you so much, my friend. 😊
I'll tell you what to do. Make music! 😉 Or visual art if you're musically burned out.
I’m trying to come up with something, but everything sounds like I’ve done it before. I’m waiting for that special WTF moment, like your trance Mariachi!
Lol! Hmmm, just blend 2 to 3 genres together and see what you come up with. 😉
I think I have something. I’m just generating purely ambient sounds in Cm at 60bpm. I can’t tell what I have yet since the lawn mowers are louder than my headphones. It will be a surprise. I don’t think I’ve ever done pure ambient before.
That sounds like a good idea.
Time to produce some ambient again, Jim
You can give custom music as a gift? I have an anniversary coming up.
You inspire me to buy more Gadget instruments while they are on sale. Might as well… I never use Gadget so I won’t have to
learn how to use them.
Hehe, soon my friend. 😊 This wonderful woman I've known for three years and I confessed love for each other, so perhaps a few love songs first.
Absolutely! It's a great and personal way to say "you're my beloved family".
Definitely get the instruments that have AUv3 counterparts! Worth every penny.
Is there anyway to know easily which have AUv3 counterparts? Don’t trouble yourself if it takes a lot of research but still…
the sale ends on Aug 1 I think.
UPDATE: Gadgets appear in the AUv3 host list even if you haven't purchased them, but you won't be able to use them until they are unlocked.
Exactly, but then again, I'd have been happy to help you once home from my gig this evening. 😂 But, one AUv3 I can’t live without is iM1. It works as Darwin in Gadget and as AUv3 now.
The Korg M1 is a great synth. I gigged for years with John Jaresko in the Ukrainian/Amercan band Akyla. He played an M1, as well as trumpet and sax. I also played accordion. They went on to become Vesely Chasy (Good Times). The best Ukrainian band in the Midwest. They got a bit part in a Michael Keaton movie. Check it out…
All of our wedding gigs were just like this. Good times!
The Gadgets yet to be purchased have PRICES LISTED in Gadget 3. Duh! or as Homer Simpson says: DOH!
These are the ones I have NOT purchased yet… any recommendations appreciated.

@McD You can take or leave the Vancouver gadget. It's more of a super simple sampler. Not needed for outside of Gadget itself. Same with Bilbao and Abu Dhabi. Vancouver, Bilbao, and Abu Dhabi are perfect for using inside of Gadget 3 itself, but not as AUv3.
Lisbon is pretty great for Trance production as it lends itself to quickly coming up with Supersaw leads and other sound design possibilities. Definitely get that one if you do Trance.
Madrid is a must-have due to it having decent bass guitars.
Ebina and Otorii are sample-based chiptune type gadgets. They're okay, but not my favourites. Kamata is pretty deep for chiptune sound design though.
Hope this helps.
Also, just purchased the Wild Kits drum pack in Module Pro. Should show up in Gadget 3 for that new acoustic drums gadget. Thanks @McD for mentioning the sale.
Thanks… I will plan accordingly… I also thought about Module Pro and player the demos for the ones I don’t own.
Yes. I’m always looking for interesting Drums. I also picked up the EP that I don’t have because I just love Rhodes and thought I didn’t love Wurly’s because my dad gave me his and I used it for 2 years on gigs and did not love it because my amp wasn’t great because the guitar player talked me into a used Fender Bassman head and I did have a reverb. Funny how cheap great reverbs became in another decade. But now I tend to prefer a Wurly with good FX.
All told I cleaned out my Birthday Gift cards today. My kids just know what I’d appreciate.
The KAPro series in Module Pro are amazing IAPs and definitely worth the money. Then again, if you have decent orchestral sounds in your DAW already (like the Iconica Sketch AUv3 and/or the Halion sounds in Cubasis 3), you're pretty much set.
Edit: Interesting drums, yes absolutely! The good news is Gadget now has acoustic drums with round robin programming. The not-so-good news, the round robins are not programmable afaik like with OneShot by Klevgrand. But then again, Gadget is on iPhone and a good alternative to OneShot being iPad only.
Alright, so the reason I became temporarily infatuated with Korg Gadget 3 is the fact Michael Jackson used Korg instruments on a lot of his later hits. However, I've become tired of Gadget and am back into FL Studio Mobile. Attached is the idea of the next project. 😎 It's going to be a cover of an obscure track (to be explained more when I eventually finish the track in its own thread).
