Anybody using Drum-A-Gog on Auria?

I'm thinking of purchasing Ipad mini in a few weeks specifically for DrumAGog and curious if anybody here has had a chance to play with it.

Thanks in advance!

  • I have used it a little and it does what it says on the tin.

Good for changing all the elements, you just need everything on separate tracks in order to replace each specific element.

No hi hat tracking atm though.

    Thanks for sharing!

by any chance are you experiencing any of the troubles that other Auria users have? If you need every element on diff tracks, ability to play a lot of tracks is a must.

edit: just found a potential solution should only one track be available.

This would be great when working with prerecorded or sampled loops as well.

I first was blind and now I see!

That's a really good vid I will have to try it out I wish I had thought of that technique, thank you.

In terms of the troubles users are experiencing WML have subbed an Auria 1.07 update to apple with a ton of fixes for Audiobus integration and a host of other stuff.

  • Cool! I wanted to pick one up this weekend so good to hear. thanks

  • Just in case you weren't aware, Auria runs substantially better on an iPad 3 or 4 - they have twice as much RAM as the mini, and the 4 also has a much faster processor.

I'm running Auria on an iPad 2 at the moment (same specs as the mini) and it's very easy to run out of RAM and/or processing power, especially when you dig into some of the (amazing) in-app purchases. If you're doing basic recording and freezing your tracks regularly you'll be okay, but keep in mind you'll be able to do much more at once (especially when it comes to Audiobus) on an iPad 3 or 4.

thanks for sharing that info man. when you say in-app purchases, are you referring to drum a gog or the other in apps like the fab filter stuff? reason i ask is i dont have the budget for the pricier ipads so can develop workarounds for now but i do need drum a gog to be tight.

but yeah, ive read good things about the other in app purchases.

  • Here's a list of the IAPs:

The beauty of Audiobus is that you can use whichever other apps as FX for Auria, so I wouldn't worry about the IAPs unless you need them. With that said, they are some of the best sounding effects you'll find on the iPad ATM, especially the Fabfilter ones.

  • I seem to remember it's about 300 meg.

  • Just opened up Auria and went to import sound, saw the gog files but it didn't make mention of the file size. Not sure where to look for exact size but at least Richard answered
