Switch which inputs go to which colours

Hi,

I'm making a template for guitar and auv3 synths.

I'd like to be able to use buttons to choose which audio sources go to which colours on the go, rather than through the mixer screen

I.e. I'd like a button which switches on/off sending guitar to orange, switches on/off sending an auv3 synth to orange and the same for other colours.

I can mute/enable a source for every colour, but not just a specific colour.

I'm sure there must be a way, but I can't work it out!

Thanks

Before launching into this, something like this is only needed if you will be having multiple inputs that are making noise simultaneously. Otherwise, you can have inputs with multiple inputs as destinations and only the recording clip receives the audio.

If you must route them separately, there are a couple of strategies:

    • multiple copies of the same input source added to the mixer, each with a single color…and setting up radio buttons or a dial to mute and unmute the channels as needed
    • Set up one bus per color destination and use sends from the input to target colors. Set up a dial or radio buttons to set send levels to determine the destination.
  • Thanks, I'll have a go at using the buses when I get the time.
