Great video Doug - is it possible to import your own samples into the full version or are you limited to the sound packs?
Really good one. I was worried you'd miss the subdivide and velocity "gestures" for the hits/notes in the sequencer, but you had that covered as well at the end.

You can import your own stuff. You can make the same exact packs as well that are being sold as IAP (not the content, but the structure), with the free WeJaam Designer for PC/Mac. Which is essentially the same thing but on the desktop acting as a standalone groovebox or as a plugin in your DAW (and is completely free).
Thanks Chris, that sounds excellent, I'll check out the Designer.

Thanks for the nudge.
Hmmm, read somewhere the 'free' designer also mutes and asks you to pay...
Oh thank heavens. I bought (or unlocked, really) WR6000 but was having some buyer's remorse because it wasn't immediately obvious to me how to do things like program notes within the sequencer (does moving the bar up and down change both velocity AND the note? How/why?) I will check this out and see what Doug did with it. (I generally liked the sounds and interface, however).

Ditto. But have also managed to make some interesting non-dance-chip stuff already and reckon the purchase gets put into the Plus column as opposed to, you know, that other shame column.
@ChrisG - Can you export .drs "kits" directly from the PC designer into the iOS version?
I am wondering if it can sync MIDI tempo from Cubasis; or other apps?

You need to enter your email to recieve the license key that removes the nag screen.
That's fair enough, thanks Chris I'll give it a spin

When you save your project in the "designer" it ends up with .das as file extension. That contains all the sample, fx and synth data/presets as well I believe. WeJaam and WR6000 both accepts that format. I'm pretty sure all the other formats (.fxb synth presets, .drs drumkits, .ptr patterns) can be slapped inside it as well, if nothing else by using iFunbox or any other iDevice file explorer.
Bit of a delay or SNAFU on getting the license email but sure it will turn up.
Another trick: On the patterns, if you hold (at the top on the number) and drag to the right, you copy the previous pattern....there are probably other similar wrinkles I haven't sussed yet....
And another: If you run/choose the 'Auto' on any track and then like what the machine randomly has given you and want to keep it, simply press 'Auto' again (turning it off, in other words) and the last notes in the sequencer remain.
Haven't figured out how to bring in my own samples yet, but no doubt that's obvious enough (once you know .
Doug does a good job (as ever) of giving you a good feel for how quickly you get amongst this. He is ABSOLUTELY right that it's as easy as you like to get going but has lots of not too brain-mangling depth....
Hope to figure out the rest of it, but happy so far. Also works (again so far) like a rock with AB.

When I gave it a Test/spin the other day it didn't work. And people are having issues with signing up to the WeJaam community it seems. So I'm guessing the there are some issues with the servers on their part. Hit him up on Twitter with @wejaam if you can't get it to work, and he should be able to generate a key for you. (Edit: He's French so U have to be super delicate, bribe him with champagne and baguettes. Also, hope ur not reading Zikkos/WeJaam;)
I had a tweet back from the developer the DJ Jamm Mix option shown in the UT I posted earlier in this thread is hopefully coming in December, but as a IAP!
Trying to download the designer from wejaam site I get:
"SetupWejaamDesigner.exe is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous.".
Anybody else saw an error like that?
Yes, you can get that occasionally with some .exe files. Just bypass the warning or use another browser to download.
Thanks @thinds .
Yes tried downloading ignored the warning now sayining WEJAAM Designer not a valid win 32 application! Anyone else? Will have to delete and try again.

Thanks! I'll have to test that with Open In, though I'm skeptical that would work. Not a big deal, though, as WR6000 now allows you to create stuff within the app.
I'm not sure what to think of it yet. I think it really needs a good manual. The effects, mixer, and even some of the included samples are top-notch, but I'm still not 100% clear after Doug's video how the sequencer really works. The "?" help thing says that if you have it set to "scale" in the mixer, you can select the notes and then pick those notes with the sequencer bar. Sometimes that works, but other times it will say "C2" no matter how high or low I set the bar. And I also don't get whether it is changing velocity at the same time it is changing pitch.
So, initial impressions: solid app, tons of features to justify a $14 (U.S.) price tag, but it may or may not be for me. I get myself into trouble with these "groovebox" apps because I generally buy them not to create live randomized sequences, but for a specific purpose, such as a cool drum line or mean-sounding bass line. But that's only really using a small percentage of what the app is capable of.
As noted already I am happy with the facility this app can make a cool drum line or mean-sounding bass line and a few other non-drum-bass patterns also. However @StormJH1 I agree that the most puzzling thing is the control of the notes/pitch in the sequencer which seems doubled with the velocity. Must be something simple we're not getting OR it's a very clumsy way of doing intuitive business. Welcome any clarification on this.

Ditto. I like the fact that I can check out this app free.so far it impresses me, but I don't get the basic thing about how to set pitches vs. velocity. And that is a pretty important thing to know.

@joegrant413 so that's at least three of us....
Mister Developer, if you come by, please clarify
Not in the German Store
update: just tried again and now its there :-)
Doug's video didn't pick up on the note programming stuff because he was playing with the automization/randomization feature. I think that's how a lot of the people use apps like this (and Thesys, Oscilab, Different Drummer, etc.). But it's useful to also know how to program specific notes within the parameters you provide. Often, I'll come across a randomized sequence that is just one or two notes away from being an idea that I like - you need to be able to change those.
I'm almost positive WR6000 was meant to allow this, but it isn't clear how it works.
And one MUST be able to do so. It would be facile otherwise. I am just relying on the fact that is ME who's being facile by not being able to figure out the obvious easy way.
