You really don’t need to critique yourself… I don’t think anyone expects perfect mixes but there are a couple here that generally post impressive mixes like @Lady_App_titude or @Daveypoo, for my tastes.
As a college percussionist, I love a nice xylophone part.
Which streaming option has the best fidelity to the original mix:
YouTube
SoundCloud
Bandcamp
other?
Thanks for the feedback. Glad the xylophone is appreciated.
I did the final mix down in Logic and exported as mp3 without changing any export settings. Brought it into LumaFusion to put the audio over the video, add a few visual filters, and export as mp4. Not sure if that plays into streaming options or what plays into that choice tbh. I went YT because (1) that’s where I dump anything AV related and (2) even though I said it was slapped together, it was really fun doing some light editing on the footage. Quite a while back I wanted to stream Splatoon, but found I liked capturing and editing gameplay more than streaming. At one point I wanted to add commentary, got an audio interface, and now I’m 400 music apps deep. My projects got sidetracked but I realized putting it together it all kinda brought it full circle. I finally made some “art” of my gameplay with music I put together start to finish. It only took 7+ years to finally make something.
Sorry for that ramble. All that said, I wouldn’t mind optimizing the sound for YT if possible. Open to suggestions.
I might need to research which services alter the audio to lower their storage and/or networking costs.
To be honest they all seem to be adequate for my listening enjoyment.
