Could you help with a setup?

Hi gang. Help! I’m trying to make a Ableton like setup (I have seen Michaels video) that uses widgets to change the scenes.
I also want to use a row of widgets to change how long the next recording will be (1-2-3-4-5-6-8 bars, etc), I set them up to change the length of the master clock.

I am however a bit miffed by a couple of funky roadblocks I explain in my video.

I am on my way to see a friend and play, and it would mean the world to me if you can help me sort this out before I arrive.

I was in a bit of a hurry, I’ll make another video as soon as I can If you’re uncertain about something.

    I’m back! A bit more succinct.

    I want to
    -Set different lengths for clips I record using the widget on top
    -Have a scene play through the longest clip before it switches
    -Have a setting that when pressing a scene, and if a clip on it is empty, it records by pressing that scene.

    I can acomplish the last step but can they all work together the same time?
    Right now Im am unsure if I should use master clock with the widgets…

    Let’s say
    -I’m on a scene with 2 bars, I know I want the next scene to be 4 bars so I press “4” on the widget/master
    -I press the next scene

    will I still be able to expect it to play through the longest clip in the scene before it moves on to record on a different scene using master, when the master clock grows and shrinks?

    It’s driving me quite nuts for now, please tell me if there is a solution
