I just bought it this morning, and on my M1 iPad Pro, it's surprisingly light on CPU! It sounds great and is probably the closest thing to an iOS version of Tone2 Icarus. It's also reminiscent of other 3-osc synths like the ESQ-1, Supernova, and MicroQ! I wish the VA filter would self-oscillate, and the SEM's self-oscillation wouldn't be constantly loud (or on all the time at max level). If there's one more filter I would like to see, it would be one based on the IR3109. That one sounds so bubbly when it sweeps!
Write the developer with your (good) suggestions, he will not see them here.
Special sale. @ 6.99
New video by Doug
The raindrops preset (lead) sounds like Nightmare on Elm Street! So cool.
Yup. Nice synth.
Especially at 6.99!
For me - Oscidia will replace the ButterSynth app in my previous and new projects, the quality of the sounds are equally as good, besides, Paul is always available for any information required for his apps, that instantly makes Oscidia more reliable than ButterSynth 👍
How would you compare Oscidia to Megalit?
Oscidia is much more comprehensive but with MPE performing, Oscidia suffers stuck notes. Megalit has never given me any problems at all, but the very limited modulation possibilities of no more than two destinations for a source, is too few for me. I want to love Oscidia which IS fantastic, much as I want to love Synthmaster 2, but they both have that commonality of being unreliable, which is especially relevant for performing.
I don’t have Megalit unfortunately, but I would definitely put Oscidia up against ButterSynth, in fact, the filter is immensely more powerful in Oscidia than ButterSynth, it is as good as the Korg MS-20, it is also as good as the filter in the VAPoly series of synths.
Put three Wavetables together in Oscidia and listen to its sonic qualities, I’m sure other users will agree too 👍
Mike
I forgot to mention, even Doug (SoundTestRoom) mentions Oscidia as being the best synth on iOS, I agree with him wholeheartedly 👍
Mike
Thanks guys. It’s tempting 😅
Touch wood - I have not come across stuck notes in Oscidia, but I have been in situations where I have preprogrammed MIDI events in Cubasis 3 to operate the Synthmaster 2 filter and envelope controls in real time, these controls ‘were’ MIDI Learned but on random occasions the mapping would mysteriously disappear and I would have to import the mapping time and time again for the past few years! It was never fixed and I hope this doesn’t happen with the Synthmaster 3 synth when it is released later this year.
Yeah its not usable for me. As well as stuck notes, extremely commonly when MPE pitch bending a single note (with a polyphonic patch), it grabs onto additional notes not actually being played so performs a polyphonic bend that isnt actually physically being performed, it does that about a third of the time when pitch bending. Its nearly brilliant and then turns out to be useless.
Have you contacted Paul about these issues, if I stop a project halfway through a note I get the occasional stuck note, I use Oscidia mainly as part of backing arrangements.
Here is Paul’s email address if you want to contact him

Or support[at]4pockets.com Wim gave me that one the other day. I'm going to try it now (regarding Helium) as I got no reply from my FB message.
Edit: For the next person who comes along and can’t figure out how to load custom wavetables into Oscidia on iPhone: you can absolutely do it!
Step one: have the Files app open on the folder containing the wavetable (in my case, an AdventureKid .wav file) you want to load.
Step two: separately, have the standalone version of Oscidia’s Wavetable Manager window open on the “folder” to which you want to add your wavetable.
Step three: in Files, long tap the wavetable file til you are able to drag it around the screen. Important: keep your finger on it so you don’t drop it yet!
Step four: without dropping your file, use another finger to swipe up, so can slide over to the standalone Oscidia app while dragging your wavetable file.
Step five: drop it into the WaveTable Manager window inside the Oscidia standalone app.
Ta dah! Your wavetable now shows up in the Oscidia AUv3’s wavetable manager and in the wavetable pick list inside your AUv3 host.
Thank you @grrdjf,
I just downloaded a load of free Echo Sound Works Core Tables, I created 9 new named folders in Oscidia, I then selected one of these folders, I opened the Files app and opened a folder of the same name, I tapped Select >Select All, I then used your drag and drop method and all wavetables transferred in one go, a few of the wavetables didn’t copy over but I was able to delete these blank wavetable in Oscidia and manually drag those few wavetables over. 👍
I can give you a Dropbox link if you want these wavetables.
Mike
And out of interest how are they? One thing I was mildly surprised about with the defaults that it ships with, is how much better it is to make use of the warping than the wavetable position, because modulating the position in pretty much every case was very "jumpy" as you traverse the table. I was also thinking of picking up exactly the echo sound works tables but I haven't used them in the past. Nothing wrong with the defaults as such, but just surprising to me that none of them are a smooth transition across the table.
They sound good, here they are, have a try and see😉

Yes! Put the Morph on, so much better👌
Use the MS-20 Filter
Use the MS-20 Filter, I just set up 3 wavetable oscillators, turned on Morph and selected the MS-20 Filter and the sound is scary….. excellent

Super, I was wondering if I could do this with multiple files at a time. Thanks for the tip!
We are all helping each other here, it also makes Oscidia more usable, but thanks for kickstarting the whole process 👍
I also want to thank Paul (4Pockets)for fixing the sticking notes issue in Cubasis 3
