Start with above, and then when your sorely disappointed with the results as I was, look into using Fiddlicator as an effect in AB and try using custom guitar cabinet impulses instead of the cabs used in bias/jam up (turn the cab off in the app)... or instead of Fiddlicator you can load them in your DAW's convolution reverb.

  • Listen to Flo on this one for sure. I highly doubt you would be disappointed.

Here's an example I did... it's Bias/JamUp app with Plexi 50 amp/Merrow OD pedal, the apps cab/speaker emulation turned off, and running Burny Mesa OS 6505 HR cabinet IR in my DAW's convolutor. The results are the same using the same IR in Fiddlicator. The custom IR really shapes the sound and tames a lot of those unwanted frequencies. There's some other great custom cab IR's out there too, just try a google search.

... said the guy with the super expensive botique Rivera amp ;)

I agree it's not 100% there, but this was straight out of the amp/convo with no applied EQ. I was trying to see how good I could make it sound with no further signal processing in the chain.

  • thanks for all your reponses.. ok i have amp sims like jamup/bias...what about drums and multitrack apps? which ones are you guys using on the ipad?
    any others?

  • here is something i came up with,... i suck bad...

  • These are fair points about convolution reverbs/IR cabinets - they can sound pretty amazing. However, with the exception of perhaps the very fastest iPads, live use of IR cabs is tough to do well. Especially if you then add in AudioBus and other apps for recording.
