ENCIRCLE - new album by Alan Brown, out on Rattle Records
Hi everyone! This is my new ambient album, produced entirely on iPad using a combination of synth apps and recorded sounds - all app FX. Produced using AUM, Cubasis and Logic Pro (mastered externally).
My previous albums, also on Rattle, Ondulation (2023) and Murmur (2021) have also been fully iPad produced. Available on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Tidal etc (NOT Spotify)!

Congrats on the album release! 🤙
Only listened to bioluminescence so far, but will definitely give the whole album a spin when I find time. Love the way the track almost creaks and sways back and forth, like I’m out at sea on some sort of cyberpunk vessel. Rad stuff!
I do have a question: you state it was made with AUM, Cubasis, and Logic Pro. As someone who solely uses Cubasis, what made you use both Cubasis AND Logic Pro? Imo they are two DAWs that serve the same purpose, and I went with Cubasis because it lacked the subscription model. What does Logic do for you that you need it in addition to Cubasis? (My intuition is that it has something to do w mixing/mastering?)
To be honest, I mainly use Cubasis - just because it's generally more reliable (Logic has some weird bugs), and the editing I need is more intuitive. I really only use Logic for its native plugins such as Alchemy! As most of my ideas are put together in AUM and either stemmed out from there, or replicated in one of the DAWs, Logic doesn't have any mixing advantages over Cubasis for what I do. I do have my own mastering chain in Cubasis which works well, but as another mastering engineer works on my tracks, I only use my own chain for reference.
Thank ya kindly
Been listening to two or three tracks each night this week and I have to say I’m impressed 👌
Lovely music, beautiful and interesting sounds, nothing outstays its welcome.
I use Qobuz for my streaming and you’ve quite a back catalogue on there for me to dip into 😊
