I am what most would consider to be an older gentleman. When I was young and full of piss and vinegar, me and the boys would go out on stage and make complete fools of ourselves in public, and loved it. Sometimes we actually got paid! Chicago had some very cool rock clubs back in the day. Oh well…. No mas. My mates are retired or dead, so I do this silly iPad nonsense. Peace!

  • Interesting. I liked it all except for the brass bits. I've always hated the sound of trombone and saxaphone, and accordion.

Anyway... interesting stuff man. Like a fusion jazz

Thanks! I wasn’t really aware of the accordion in the mix. I started out on accordion when I was about 8 years old and was 2nd in state. I should have been first, but politics… Accordion was very cool back then. Dick Contino and Myron Floren were big. Ed Sullivan was huge.

  • Oh, I didn't hear any accordion, I just note that as one of the more tonaly offensive to my senses. I have the accordion app by apesoft which is good, but the sounds make me angry. It feels like a clown instrument to me personally.

Saxophones have always been cringey sounding to me as they cut thru everything. It has a main character syndrome. trombone is a little easier to handle, but those three instruments make me feel gross, and I pay too much to street pharmacists to be voluntRily feeling icky.

LOL. I do like your track- the start goes hard AF and I like the sci fi industrial padding/drones that I'm hearing. It's a good song and I rarely comment on other peoples tracks, so... thanks for not taking it as hate as none was intended. Just trying to share some insight on my fancies, despite anyone asking for them.

    I will listen to more!

  • Also, I'm in Texas and I hear the accordion wayyyy too much. It also reminds me of weird Al

Hi bro! I agree, accordions were awesome. I spent years as a child playing along with Ed Sullivan on Sunday on night. It was great with my velvet bolero and puffy sleeves. Peace, bro.

  • Loved this one Paul (including the brass), one of your best for a while imho 🙏
I quite like an accordion, this is a duet playing possibly my favourite piece of music of all time…

  • @GeoTony Thank you for posting this. I have listened to Petrushka many times, but never as an accordion duet! This brought back memories of my times as one of Dolores Jacklin’s “Accordionaires ”. Me and Ricky Butler were her top students. He was a real character. Even at a young age, he wore a black leather jacket, smoked cigarettes, and was always in trouble with the law. He was a tough guy, a “greaser”, but immensely talented. He got the girls… as much as a twelve year boy old could. I always wanted to be like him. Thanks for the memories!
