@Fear2Stop Hey mate. Just wanted to put things into context. I would be more upset if KQ's apps were sunset (like a certain dev did earlier this year to one of the best DAW apps on iOS 😒). If the legacy versions continue to function fine in my projects, no need for me to be upset. And if I want to upgrade to the next OS and still need KQ's apps, I can repurchase the apps for dirt cheap with the upgrade bundle. That's much better than losing the apps forever.

And yes, paying for a future update here and there isn't the end of the world. KQ's top-quality apps are definitely worth repurchasing. So if his apps mean that much to you and you want to save a few quid when repurchasing, just wait for the bundles to be available (if they aren't available already, maybe I missed something whilst skimming this thread).

Also for the record, I'm not sure what "scenes" are either, but SDK means "software development kit", which is something developers use to make their apps afaik. I could be wrong. It's almost 5am here, and I should be getting my sorry arse back to bed. 😂

Okay now for part two of my ignorance …I thought them being deprecated was the same as being sunset ! Didn’t realize it was still going to work! I use Dixie a hell of a lot and I have anger for how many of my projects got broken with the Audiobus Pty calamity , and thought that was gonna happen again

You just said 'I didn't realize it was still going to work'. But, to be clear, they might stop working at some point because the developer did say he's no longer going to update them. So if they get broken by an update, you'll be forced to buy the new versions if you still want to use these apps.
For now the old apps will work, but there's no guarantee for how long they will work.

Woah. Brain is fried trying to understand all this.
What if I just don’t update Dixie and keep using the version I’ve got on my iPad? Is that an option?

You can update without fear. The name will just change to Dixie Legacy and the icon will have an L on it. Nothing else will change.

If you don't update, the App Store will still show the update forever and you'll probably eventually accidentally update it.

There's also no reason to expect they will stop working any time soon. IMO. These have always been stable apps.

[edit] I mean, at least in regard to the AUv3 plugins. The standalone app could be more prone to getting broken, and in particular IAA could stop working.

    Just a loose thought...

If anyone did buy the new app under the wrong impression it should be fine to request a refund with the reason "Purchased by accident" (or whatever the exact wording is). That one has always worked for me the few times I've requested a refund over the years.

The bundle is more expensive to me than the new app. Too expensive for brazil too 😞

If it does not say "Complete My Bundle" next to the price, it is not showing the correct price. AppStore obviously knows that you own the old app, because it says "Open", but it has not accessed your original purchase price. Did you buy it with the same Apple ID that you're now using?

It wouldn't show that they owned the old app if it was purchased from a different Apple ID.

  • I found my old purchase, it was the same Apple ID, but it was done when it was connected to another country. I moved since then and changed the app store country accordingly. Maybe this creates problems…

@branis @cokomairena is that your case as well by any chance?

Yes, but not sure about family sharing. Do you"own" an app that your sister bought and family-shared? Does she need to buy the bundle?

    Good point.

  • A paid update is more enticing when it adds features or improves workflow. Are these just the same apps but with an updated code base on the back end?

I got a report which says that the App Store showed an expensive price at first but then it showed correctly.
Could you wait for some days?

The correct price is on the confirming purchase screen. Could you go to that screen?

Here are some steps to check why the bundle discount (“Complete My Bundle”) might not be applied:

    1. Check your Apple ID
Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID that you used to purchase the individual app. You can confirm this in your App Store purchase history.

    2. Check your purchase history and hidden items
Sometimes previously purchased apps are hidden in the App Store. Please check if the app is hidden and unhide it if necessary.

    3. Check your country/region (storefront)
If you changed the country or region of your Apple ID, the purchase may belong to a different storefront and might not be recognized for the discount. Please confirm that your Apple ID’s country/region matches the one you used when you purchased the app.

    4. Check how the app was purchased
If you received the app through a promo code, Family Sharing, or as part of a different bundle, the App Store may not apply a discount.

  • Im in another region than the original buy, but I see others have exactly the same issue.

  • I bought KQ Dixie in January 2018 for 40SEK ($3.99). If I get the KQ Dixie 26 bundle I’ll only save 10SEK so I’ll likely just get the full version if/when there’s major feature additions (Like vastly improved patch/bank management) or the old one stops working…

  • In my case, the upgrade was $7.00. I don't feel bad about getting it. This is a good developer.

I did change the country, but it was before I purchased KQ Dixie.

@RyoutaKira I went through the steps, all good from my side. I’ll see if anything changes in the next days.
