How does Arp Swing work in Tera Pro?

I just got Tera Pro on sale and I’ve been enjoying it a lot so far. However, I noticed that the Swing feature on the Arpeggiator isn’t working how I thought it would. In the video below, I have a 16-step sequence set up that goes up an octave every other note. My experience with Swing in the Drambo sequencer made me think that the downbeats would have their timing unaffected, while every second beat gets slightly offset to the right. However, I honestly can’t tell what’s happening in the video below. The timing seems off for some reason. It seems to be skipping steps? And “Key Sync” means that the sequence should reset to the start when I first press a key, but with Swing on, the start of the sequence sounds a bit inconsistent. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I’ve never touched that knob until now and it’s consistent with what you’re seeing….no answers, but that is the wackiest swing I’ve ever heard :D

Fairly certain that’s a bug unless I I’m missing something

I’ve been scrolling through the presets for the past few minutes, and it seems that none of the preset makers touched it either lmao. I have a clearer video that I’ll post in a few minutes.

Here is a comparison using a simple up & down chord arpeggio:

1st playthrough is using the Drambo sequencer with swing (Tera Pro arp is turned off). This is my expected behavior.

2nd playthrough is using the Tera Pro sequencer without swing (Drambo is playing C2 on hold to play the arp). I’ve noted that under the Key Sync mode, the sequence starts 1 beat late before eventually correcting itself upon the next cycle of the Drambo sequence.

3rd playthrough is using the Tera Pro sequencer with swing. I don’t even know what to say about this one.

I think we should call this slider Drunk instead of Swing. 😄

Jokes aside though, @VirSyn maybe you could take a look at this behavior? Both the Arp swing timing & the Arp starting late (when triggered by another sequencer). Maybe there’s settings that I haven’t set up properly? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like something you’d get from one of them polyrhythmic midi sequencers. 😂
