Delete & Re-Install Loopy Pro 2.0 on iPad: How to do safely?
I think my Loopy Pro install is borked. Don't want to spend more time debugging it, so I'd like to delete it and re-install. How to do this without losing the projects etc. I have saved?
I don't see Loopy Pro in my iCloud, I see an empty folder called Loopy Recordings but don't know if Loopy created that or I did.
Thanks!

Before you decide to delete loopy pro, I’d suggest you explain why you think that needs to be done as the issue may be remedied more safely.
Periodically, I see postings where someone thought a reinstall was needed when the issue was something that could be remedied without deleting the app.
Deleting the app should be used only as a last resort. The OS deletes the contents of an app’s home folder when the app is deleted.
If you have any projects saved from the AUv3, you will need to move those projects out of the Audio Unit Extension Folder visible in Loopy Pro’s project browser as that folder is not visible to the Files app.
The Loopy Pro folder on your iPad or iPhone is where your projects , plugin presets and global profiles are stored. You can copy it to another location and restore the contents after reinstalling.
Set Lists will be lost if you delete the app as well as any unexported AUv3 projects or files in the Audio Unit Extension Folder that you do not copy elsewhere…since that folder is not visible to Files app.
There should be a folder called Loopy Pro on your iPad or iPhone
Yes, found this, thanks! Zipped it & Air Dropped onto my MacBook. I have never used Loopy as an AUV3 inside something else, but have used AUV3s inside Loopy in some projects. Checked LP project browser and there is nothing in Set Lists or Audio Unit Extension Folder.
Anything else I should do before the big leap?
(Really appreciate your offer to help debug, but have spent too much time already on it.)
Can you tell us what the problem is? It is valuable to us to know about problems people encounter so that we can address them.
Ok, here is the current sequence, typed up exactly while doing it.
Add MIDI / Keyboard
Add Audio Unit / Pure Piano
Press Midi Keyboard, play some keys
Tap Orange loop
So I cannot record MIDI. I've watched the videos. If you see something wrong in my sequence or understanding please let me know, I won't delete / re-install just yet. This has happened many times, I never know why, or why it subsequently starts working.
Can you make that project and record some notes into it then save that project, zip that project (long press in Files app and choose compress) and upload it here so that I can take a look at it?
I've attached the file. The loops (1 midi, 1 audio) will not arm or record, so I can't record either MIDI or audio. I used BLEASS Monolit as synth and it plays the sounds when keys pressed.
You turned off Record If Empty in the global gestures. Turn it back on and you should be fine.
Wow. I am confused how this happened, I did not even know this setting existed. Reset it, all works.
Thank you so much!! Glad I did not go the nuclear route. Embarrassed.
No problem. Fwiw, if a problem is taking a long time to figure out. I’d suggest posting the details earlier rather than later.
I’d also suggest, starting with a new project made with Loopy Pro’s default template fairly early in the process. Just in case some setting got changed that got overlooked.
Ah, so I may have been re-using some defective setting in my own template? Aargh. Did not realize that. Re-trying a dozen times was voluntarily beating my head against a wall
