Do Blocs Wave sound packs ever go on sale any more?

I feel like they forgot about it.

I actually like the packs and they seemed designed to work well together.

    Not last year.

  • Well maybe not but your post made me go through them and I found a few free ones I missed and also: there's a whole bunch of various booster packs that cost just under a dollar. You of course know this but maybe others don't, cheers! 😃

Yes, they used to do sales more often but it's been a while.

From what I remember the original developer sold the app to someone else. Since then I don't think any new features have been added - just new packs to buy.

I am guessing you already have the "import sounds" IAP..?

  • The developer is Ampify, part of Novation.

Blocs Wave, Launchpad and Groovebox seem to be in this sort of “maintenance mode”, no new features are developed just new content packs.

  • I'm curious about Blocs Wave too. I've bought many of their excellent packs in the past when on sale. I don't know if they're on sale now, but most are only $1.99.

I was thinking of buying a few more, but it appears they're absolutely proprietary to the Blocs Wave app? Meaning, that if they decide to stop supporting Blocs Wave completely, I'd lose all of those packs too?

Looks like the last update was about 9 months ago. It's really a great app overall. I have all the "pro" extras too... but, as it's IAA only, I wouldn't be surprised if an iOS update in the not too distant future, renders it useless. Might grab 2-3 packs anyway... at $1.99 I'm sure I'll get my money's worth before the app is fatally deprecated.

In case you didn’t know, any sound packs that you buy in their other app Launchpad will be available to use in Blocs Wave as well.

I vaguely remember that. But, the packs purchased in blocs wave aren’t available in Launchpad?

Launchpad is still IAA too though. I wonder which one is most likely to still be around in 5 years?

No, I think it only goes one way: Launchpad packs appear in Blocs Wave but not the other way around.

I think they are the same company so if they ever close shop both apps will vanish.
