Dexed vs KQ Dixie 26
Owned a DX7 in the 80s, still love those classic sounds. There is something about E.PIANO 1 that I just can’t get past. I recently bought Cubasis and the FM classics iap and love it, but I can’t use it in loopy pro. Love King of FM and use it often.
That said, I want the full DX7 experience on my iPad and I want to use it in LP. It looks like KQ Dixie 26 and a port of Dexed are the two closest options. KQD26 is auv3, it doesn’t look like Dexed is. Also, the reviews online of the Dexed port don’t sound promising.
Looking for input from anyone who has either or both.

If you do a forum search, you will find a lot of opinions. KQ is still actively engaged in iOS app development. IMO, you won’t find a better iOS DX7 emulation. (Former DX7 user)
I definitely value your opinion. Thank you!
FYI - The dev has been great to work with and is really helpful. I’ve been using a number of the KQ apps for a couple of years now.
I prefer KQ Dixie despite the unintuitive UI.
A bit of a left field option is Elastic OSC, which in a recent update gained the ability to import DX7 patches. Really cool synth on sale right now. It’s definitely not the full DX7 experience though!
True that, once the LFOs pop up in next Elastic OSC update it will be possible to add a one-shot LFO that sweeps thru the envelope values on the 3 DX7 based FM modules.
(The LFO speed of a ramp up/down wave will in practice be a 'time/position-sweep' of the DX7 envelopes)
Grabbed KQ Dixie 26 last night. Love it!
