Korg iM1 & Darwin - Resonance
Just got Korg iM1 mostly to play around with the factory programs in Darwin for Korg Gadget. I felt they included a decent enough set of controls to tweak the presets.
Then I found out that there’s no way in Darwin to actually turn on the resonance for any of the original factory programs (this excludes the KLC expansion card). I get that none of the original programs had resonance, but it’s a bit annoying having a Resonance knob that is useless for most of the presets.
The workaround is to enable resonance in the standalone app and save the preset to one of the Library Cards. But that just feels like some unnecessary friction in the process. Definitely feel like there needs to be a way to enable resonance from within Darwin.
Comments
Considering that the Darwin gadget is pretty limited (Compared to stand alone and AUv3) I’d say it’s by design. Same goes for the Miltipas gadget that is based on the Wavestation which unfortunately has not gotten an AUv3 yet…
Also the original M1 didn’t have resonant filters at all
I’ve missed the pretty obvious solution here lol. Just use Taipei and enjoy all of iM1’s features, even the Multis & Combis.
