Left Behind
I posted this on another forum and asked... what genre is this? I got a few different answers. One person suggested that I use the following website to help:
https://audioaidynamics.com/genre-finder
I started to use it, but they wanted a lot of personal information about me, and a small skin sample. I decided that it wasn't really that important. Another member followed through out of curiosity, and said it came back with 11 different genres. Ultimately, we agreed that it's just "Prog Rock". Good old Prog Rock.
Shoutout to @Pxlhg for helping with the title. Alone but not lonely.

Is anyone else not seeing these audio files? Just a blank space.
False alarm. I closed the thread and came back to it and it appeared.
That’s been happening with the others also.
Very cool track @Paulieworld. Is that a fretless bass I hear?
There are quite a few uploaded tracks on other users pages, if you tap around where the link or player should be it will work, but invisible……yes
Hi Ben. Yes, that’s a fretless bass, but it’s a synth, not the real thing. Ironic in that I played a fretless bass for about 40 years. I played bass and keys for most of my adult life. Now I just play with my iPad, a stylus, and a MIDI editor. If I recall correctly, the sound is from Korg iM1 with a bit of the default Cubasis chorus effect applied. Thanks for listening.
I haven’t noticed that yet, but nothing surprises me anymore. Glad to hear that it worked itself out.
This is fantastic! I really enjoyed listening to this one, Paul. Really well crafted and a great listening experience.
Edit: And of course our favourite DAW Cubasis was the creative environment.
Hi Jim! Thank you so much. I used a bunch of material from other projects in this one. That’s probably why this sounds so disjunct. I figured nobody will notice anyway, and I own it, so why not.
I really like the Cubasis environment. In the past I used Cakewalk, Sonar, and a few others in a PC environment. I was able to jump right back in after 20+ years. I tried Gadget for a while, but never quite warmed up to it. On the bright side, I have all of those great Korg synths that I can now use in Cubasis!
Did you get clobbered with snow this weekend? We were planning a little family get together, but two were coming from North Wisconsin, and two were coming from Potosi, South Wisconsin. We all agreed to cancel and try again next Sunday. Have a great week. Stay warm!
Yep, got slammed with snow on Saturday. Crazy. I walked outside in it, and it was rather magical. Not great for driving, but luckily I don't drive anymore. But for walking in, it was a blast!
And that makes sense why you take to Cubasis so well.
Great track Paulie, as usual 🥰
I like this because it’s cohesively disjunct.
Thanks!
LOL
Excellent work Paul, lovely changes in mood and sounds but it all works together 🙏
“Cohesively disjunct” Hope your weather is better than Chicago. I’m looking out the back door at the snow plows. It’s quite lovely until it gets mixed with mud and salt. Stay warm.
