Drambo + Navichord Setup Question

edited December 2025 in General App Discussion

Hi,
I don’t expect many people to dive into this issue, but I’ll give it a try. :)

I’m trying to control Drambo with Navichord on two separate MIDI channels:

Goal:
1. Record rhytmic chord progression on Drambo Track 1 using Navichord chordpads
2. Record the bassline on Drambo Track 2 using the Navichord keys. I also using the Navichord chord pads to manually get scale layout changes on Navichord keys. I dont want to record chord pads on bassline track, only for the scale layout changes on Navichord keys. This way i get a chord following keys in navichord an i would get it in Drambo bassline track.

Navichord setup:

  • Virtual Out enabled
  • Chord pads → MIDI Out CH1
  • Keyboard → MIDI Out CH2

Drambo setup:

  • Track 1: MIDI Input module → Navichord Virtual Out CH1
  • Track 2: MIDI Input module → Navichord Virtual Out CH2
  • Global MIDI Input for Navichord enabled

What works:
Navichord chord pads play Track 1
Navichord keys play Track 2
Both work correctly during normal playing. But recording both midi channel signal for the selected Drambo channel while recording, what i want to avoid.

So When I record the bassline on Track 2, Drambo also records the CH1 chord-pad notes, even though I only want Track 2 to record CH2 (the keys). (I make this in navi chord for chord following basslines, but dont want to record the chord pad hits onto Track 2)

If I disable Global MIDI Input for Navichord, Drambo records nothing, even though the per-track MIDI Input modules are set correctly and plays correctly, but won't be recorded.

I need a way for Drambo to record only CH2 on Track 2, without also recording the chord-pad MIDI from CH1.

Comments

  • Hi. I believe if you tap on the track header at the left, you can select the MIDI input source and channel for the track. That's probably what the track recording is following, not the MIDI Input module.
