A Couple Of Questions From Doug
If I was to demo an Andriod music app which one would you like to see?, not one thats already on iOS.
And what Sugar Bytes VST would you like to see first thats not on iOS yet, Cycop, Consequence, Guitarist, Unique Synth. The other two are the Vogue channel strip which I'll cover later and Artillery 2 which is also an effect I'll do later.
Comments
I've no idea what music apps are available on other platforms, so it'd be good to see the best of what's on offer, and what else Sugar Bytes are up to
Cycop? Do you mean Cyclop.... then i would like to see this. I heard a lot good stuff about it but a thesoundtestroom hands on would be great.
For Android i would like to see maybe the "Heat" synthesizer.
I can't speak for others but I really like the fact that you are iOS only. If I want to learn about Android or VSTs there are many other sites that I can go to. Personally I think Android and VST coverage would clutter up the site and I would prefer the time spent making more of your excellent iOS demos.
I don't think he ever was iOS only.... just mainly I thought the same a while ago but now i like crossplatform.
Agree with mkell424. In fact I wouldn't mind if it were Audiobus-compatible only! ;-p
I vote yes for both the Android and VST videos. However, I think you shouldn't post them here. Make them exclusively TSTR.com and YouTube. Plus Tim will post them up at Discchord.
What I would like to keep is ios coming up. I don't want to be selfish. It's just that there aren't many guys doing this. Specially like Doug does it. And understand @mkell424 from the point of view that we only have an iPad on our hands.
But I learn just as much from the other stuff like hardware. And configurations on the PC. I know nothing about VSTs and maybe I will never use the information. I hope I can.
ps. sorry for the english
There are over 400 videos on the channel, it was never just iOS just mainly, and it will always be mainly iOS, but I have always made it known that I like to intergrate the iPad and desktop. The more people realise the you can intergrate the two, the more people will start to adopt iOS as a serious and professional option for their music. There are also lots of hardware videos too
Maybe "RD3 - Groovebox", both iOS and Android, could be a good start.
Not a cross platform, they are the same and I've done the RD3
SB Consequence please!
I would like to see straight iOS vids plus some general music tuts on maybe midi, harmony or hardware.
iOS & OSX for me, please:-)
Doug... While we're here...would you consider making a v2 of Protein Der Klang? It had an update. Output slot. I am very interested. Tell me what you think. If you don't think it's worth it I won't either.
Love the iOS stuff, but can understand you wishing to showcase a little integration, as well as diversifying your estimable portfolio

Ok. I didn't find it in the Archive list. BTW, is called RD4.
Good idea, not easy to find common apps...
I agree with your sentiment above Doug @thesoundtestroom . While there are those who do only use iOS and do it very well - I'm all for integration too. BUT I'm also in favor of you keeping the focus on iOS at the moment vs. diversifying to Android.
Having said that, you have graciously asked here - and yet at the end of the day - it's your site - with your ideas. So, kudos to you if you decide to do any Android videos. I make mention of a variety of platforms on my FB page when something interesting and possibly helpful comes along, but I'm not putting any effort into covering anything Android in detail.
For my part, and I suspect a lot of others however who are already convinced of the existing prowess of iOS (unresolved iOS 8 transition issues aside - it's WHY we want to see them resolved - because it does so much lead here!), and hence won't be giving a second look to anything on Android in the near future, it might be of passing interest, but I'm all for you focusing on iOS (and iOS integration ;-) )
I've left Android behind for music making - won't be going back anytime soon :-)
No Android :-)

Sorry fj heres the link
Would be really interested to find out more about SB Cyclops. (Hoping they might port it to iOS one day).
Not sure I care much about Cyclops as an app but I would absolutely buy an app that made the cyclops robot dance to my beats via audiobus!
I will be doing all the other Sugar Bytes stuff, and some other desktop stuff, but no Android
SB May end up porting all their VST's
Wonder if they'll port the video game as part of an app version of Cyclop ;-) ?
Probably, I think eventually they will port them all, I think Unique and Cyclop would be fairly straightforward for them, Consequence is massive but not disimilar to Egoist and Thesys in style. Guitarist would be a very nice addition to iOS, nothing like that really. And Vogue would certainly be doable as an effect
+1 for Guitarist. Recently purchased on sale and a bit intimidating for non-guitarist. Cyclop and Consequence would also be great, because they're so deep.
As for Android, Audio Evolution and SPC ... I think latter is by RD4 developer.
Thx.
Thanks Doug @thesoundtestroom said:
Thanks dude. Again I'm a huge fan of your videos and there's so much out there for iOS to focus on. Thanks for all that you do.
Its very true, too much iOS stuff to do, and its best to stick at what I know. But there will be some VST and desktop stuff from both me and Colin, but it will never effect the other stuff and for the most part will be intergration based
Shame you don't live a bit closer Doug, I could lend you my old MS20 and you could do a comparison video between that and the iOS version!
Oh yeah that would be very cool
