IMO, if one’s point of comparison is miRack (which is excellent), Audulus is probably not going to appeal. Audulus’ big appeal is for use-cases where someone wants to create modules and workflows that don’t yet exist.
LOL. 👍
Hey All, the old subscriptions are now removed from the list of IAPs on the App Stores. Sorry for the confusion!
Here’s the official PR!
Audulus 4.7: Audulus Evolves: Modular Audio Creation Now Free on iOS, iPad, and macOS
December 5, 2025
Audulus, the acclaimed modular audio platform for iOS, iPad, and macOS, announces a major update that makes the full core environment free. Users can now access the complete Audulus node library to design custom synthesizers, sequencers, effects, controllers, and advanced DSP- and graphics-driven tools. A growing set of Pro Modules for purchase offers expanded capabilities while directly supporting continued development of the platform.
Audulus builds on the long tradition of visual, node-based programming. It started as an experiment in iPad-based music creation and has grown into a powerful modular environment for advanced sound design with fluid, responsive visual tools. Its next-generation graphics engine delivers exceptional speed and fluidity across devices—from iPhone and iPad to macOS and AUv3 inside your favorite DAW.
Core Audulus is now completely free, offering the full modular environment at no cost on iOS, iPad, and macOS. The newly introduced Pro Modules Marketplace provides professionally designed building blocks for advanced synthesis, effects, and utilities. iPhone support has returned in Audulus 4, restoring the full modular experience to iPhone and turning your pocket into a versatile sound laboratory.
Praised for its capabilities across iPadOS, iOS, and macOS, Audulus now invites an even broader creative community to explore its possibilities. With the core environment open to all and new tools available for those who want to go deeper, a new chapter of modular creation begins.
Yay! I made audio pass through it! Only took me about an hour to figure out. I feel like I did the first time I learned how to edit a file in HP Unix. 😂
I'm curious why every factory preset I try in the plugin version comes up with the yellow "patch failed validation" warning?
Wow! Now imagine me? A week!!! Lol 😆
I just load up presets and 🤤 drool for hours. 😄 🤣
Huh that's odd... I'll see if I can reproduce that. Thanks for mentioning it!
Same here happens in AUM.
Agree on that 👍 audulus looks cool though, as in I really like the color theme. But yes comparing it miRack won’t do it any favors. Mirack is insanely powerful.
Maybe my wording wasn’t clear. I didn’t mean to imply that Audulus is less powerful than miRack. I was trying to make the point that Audulus serves a different niche.
I think Audulus is probably more powerful than miRack
Agree on that, Audulus is one of the most beautiful looking apps on this platform, for my taste, hands down!
@Taylor I don’t find the IAP shop very clear to understand what modules are in a specific bundle. I bought the CLK bundle thinking it would contain the modules starting with CLK- but some of them are not in the bundle. I’m not complaining about pricing or anything but it would be good to know exactly what you’re getting before purchase.
My take on the comparison with MiRack:
In Audulus you are given the opportunity to work from first principals, you can be the electronics/now-digital engineer behind what could be Euro rack kit. Build your own filter, sequencer, etc. Emulate a beloved Euro rack module, or something completely new if you’re a badass
MiRack is a skeuomorphic VA version of what many badass hardware builders came up with applying hardware first principles.
Audulus has been made available to work strictly at that already built modules level. Personalize a rack, or racks to do your magic. Apples v. oranges is then apples and apples, and it becomes a GUI and UX preference
I am curious how many models there are to buy? I just see so many great patches but then a lot of in purchased stuff. Hate to sound negative but yea I feel price drops or bundles. I can’t see buying a $5 clock, then see a cooler hyper clock and it’s $5 as well. Oh well slightly sad but I agree there is a lot free, but the teasers are killing me . Later
I count 33 Pro modules, but that's a moving target. I assume there will be more added over time. None of them are needed in order to use Audulus.
What isn't as clear is what other modules (if any) are unlocked when you do unlock a module with an IAP. It does say "bundle" when you go to the IAP, so I'm assuming maybe there could be more? Or maybe "bundle" is a confusing term and should be dropped. So far I've only read posts from people getting only one module with the IAP.
As @gusgranite says, some clarification, and a clear list of what's included in a bundle unlock would be helpful. Until then, no IAP's from me.
Yea , I bought a drone bundle. 1 pretty good synth. But yeah, no bundles really. I am not digging this as before we would just go to patch storage. Or build our own with no locked modules. Oh well I hope the cpu is better, lata
Nothing has changed. You can still go to patch storage to get modules. You can still build your own modules. All the modules that were there before are there now, unlocked, ready to build with. The only locked modules are new "Pro" modules.
At least that's my understanding, but I wasn't a user before, so maybe I'm wrong?
If functionality was taken away from people who purchased the app before the update and changed model, then that's a violation of App Store guidelines and should be followed up on.
That’s right. No functionality was taken away. One can still get patches from patchstorage and the Discord. There is no need to purchase any of the paid modules.
I am not sure why you are calling them bundles. They aren’t labeled as bundles as far as I can see. You can still build all the same things you build before without them. These pro modules are essentially complex patches that some might find useful but aren’t necessary. They are also probably useful to study for those that want to go deep.
Add a Pro module, then tap unlock. This is what you see in some instances. It’s not clear what’s included.

There are bundles. I bought the CLK bundle that includes about 7 modules. You just can’t tell which CLK modules are in it though, even after you’ve purchased it. Some of the CLK modules are priced and purchased individually
@wim @gusgranite thanks for the clarification. Not having tried to buy one I hadn’t seen them called bundles but now I see the IAPs are called bundles. I agree that it seems unclear what they include.
Hey folks —
First off, apologies for the confusion around the bundles in the Pro IAP modules. We’re actively working to clear it up.
In the meantime, here are some details about the CLK system.
Overview
The CLK project grew out of a desire for deeper arrangement and composition tools (variety versus the endless repetition in generative/algorithmic systems). So it's clocking with lots of perks to spice things up.
The CLK modules are split into two groups:
The CLK Tools Bundle
https://forum.loopypro.com/uploads/editor/72/37pdjf1qs2et.png
The CLK bundle contains the core clock and timing utilities:
CLK
Global clock. Provides a phase-synchronized clock signal to drive an entire patch, with support for sequencing tempo and time-signature changes.
CLK Divisions (2 modules)
Clock division and subdivision utilities.
Time Shift
Shifts the clock signal forward or backward, and adds swing/shuffle and humanization. (Basic stuff, but quite a powerful concept in the Audulus environment...)
Event Scheduler
Schedules a sequence of arbitrary gate events. (The foundational "event", a gate. By events, think "gate", "pitch", "octave", "pulse width", "velocity", "duration", etc. -- all things that could be part of a single entity in a sequencer.)
Strum
Time-offset triggering for strummed or staggered events. (Creative possibilities...)
CLK Sequencers (separate modules)
These modules introduce a “preset manager” aimed at arrangement and composition — Buchla-esque, presets applied in a modular environment, more creative possibilities. Here think, sequencer with preset manager, because it opens lots of doors.
RS-1 — Ratcheting sequencer
GS-1 — Gate sequencer with a hybrid, piano-roll-style interface
SQ-2 — Drum-focused sequencer
SS-516 — Multi-page, event-based sequencer
TimeWarp — Experimental sequence generator
P-Train — Syncopated and off-grid rhythm generator
Thanks for your patience while we straighten out the packaging. Feedback is always welcome.
