Are you using the Gigcaster 8’s USB-C port to connect to an IOS device, Mac or PC?
The Mac and PC will likely have the capability to power on the Gigcaster while an IOS device may not.
Without enough power the Gigcaster won’t “connect”.
The solutions for this case are:
Use the power adapter that comes with the Gigcaster to take the power requirement off the USB-C port
Or connect that USB-C port to a powered USB-C hub that is set up with a USB PD (power distribution) connection
To a power adapter that can source enough Watts to drive the Gigacaster and the IOS device and any other devices
Attached to the USB Hub.
I bought my first USB-C hub that only had USB-A ports for additional devices after connecting my iPad to the hub.
I got a 100Watt power adapter and connected it to the USB PD port on this hub.
I soon realized I was out of USB-C ports and I wouldn’t have a USB-C port available to add a power hungry device like
A Gigcaster 8… so I looked again for a hub with several USB-C ports and found one. It has a PD port and 4 open USB-C
Ports.
You may have the USB-A type of USB-C hub and a USB-C to USB-A cable might power up the Gigcaster and show the
4 channels in a DAW but I’m not sure. There are some YouTiube videos that pop-up for a “Boss Gigcaster 8 iPad” Google search.
Please keep this thread informed on your effort to solve this problem.
Maybe you could describe what you've tried so far and in what way those things have failed. That might narrow it down. I have a long list of things I could ask you, but it would be like searching for a needle in a haystack without at least a few clues.
These are the minimum requirements to connect, as far as I know.
Be sure you're connecting to a USB data port, not a USB-C Power Delivery only port.
