Could this be the best iOS preamp for guitar player?

  • It sounds really great, thats for sure! It can be bright and buzzy or heavy and raw. Sounds like a great combo of apps right there.

  • I wish they offered IAP’s to upgrade the knobs to “Spinal Tap” standards… “they go to 11”.

I got excited because Nembrini is having a 1/2 off sale but “alas”, I own it already.

Can someone make a Spinal Tap FX app with cc controlled knobs that can reach 11?

As I recall, there was one. I think it was called PuppetShowFX.

  • That sounds really good! Kind of sounds a bit like a cranked Twin Reverb to me.

    I agree.
    Thanks for listening.

    I have a Vox Ac15 for the demo,but I see what you mean😉.
    Thanks.

  • Thank you for the demo of the pre-amp app and the Nam-XT app loaded with a Vox Ac30 power amp profile. As always your hands are important in the impact but if you think it’s one of the best I’ll accept your judgement. To me everything sounds like cheap Bluetooth ear buds fed by an iPhone.

  • Hi Flo, thanks for the review. Did you try SGA Phoenix app?

  • I've been playing and recording guitar for 35 years and listen carefully for tone nuance. Anyone who says they could distinguish that recording from a "mic'd up amp" is lying.

No,I have not tested this one.
Wasn’t this app free on Mac and pc?
    Thanks.

    Many thanks.
    Much appreciated.

  • I am on my phone and I can’t see the small details. Are you using an amp sim / cab sim ?

  • I use a VOX amp profile with a Celestion greenback ir cab+the voltour as a preamp.
    Thanks.

No idea. I only noticed it today thanks to the new free version of Phoenix LT. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sga-phoenix-lt/id6755629174?platform=ipad

It just sounds a little brighter than what I would expect from a Vox amp.
