JWM - The Hero's Journey (Videogame Disco done in Gadget)

Normally I make my friend Jody a piece of art of one of his OCs for Christmas, but at the end of November I quit drawing to focus more on music production and learning new songs to play on piano. So instead, I made my friend this piece of music for Christmas!

It's my favorite Justice-styled Disco sound with a pinch of videogame elements. Enjoy!

  • You really do keep busy. Sounds great, as always and as expected. That low synth has some real grit to it. Love the chiptune elements. I've yet to find a good chiptune emulation for Windows and Cubase.

Thanks mate. :) I gave it the chiptune elements due to the fact my friend loves videogames. And, he loves his gift! That's what matters most. ❤️

And, about chiptune emulations, I remember Plogue being a pretty good brand.

But your mileage may vary. Seems Plogue is loaded with more synths now than they used to have. I remember using "Bidule" back in my days at uni, but that's a modular plugin host rather than a videogame music emulator.

The Kingston gadget in Gadget 3 is pretty f-ing amazing for chiptunes though as is Kamata. Kingston can really do those rapid arpeggios extremely well. Ebina is not so bad either, although it's a 16-bit late 80s/early 90s game music rompler rather than a full synth. Better suited for Synthwave and Synth Pop music in my opinion, but grain of salt please.

Thank you so kindly, my friend. ❤️ Merry Christmas to you too.

  • I missed this one - not much of a gamer myself, but evokes a hero in a game for sure. Your friend must be pretty pleased with this.
