Heard of her through Colbert maybe a year (or two) ago. The album: All Born Screaming is awesome. She supposed to be a very good guitarist but I haven seen and heard that much.
She is a very good guitarist. Her uncle is one of the world’s best jazz guitarists (Tuck Andress) and she was his duo’s road manager when she was in high school—if I understand correctly, he gave her the job partly so she would see what a grind being on the road was.
She is quite the composer/performer. When the French horns come in at about 33:30, that’s pretty moving.
Shes the bomb, love st vincent. The loopypro community would probably like her studio rundown video on Reverb’s youtube channel too. She is a tinkering sound designer nerd jamming off loops and glitchy grooves just like us lol
Why no link, for faks sake? When you give such a good tip. Well, off to a search then (grrr)
The orchestration is amazing! Watching the musicians and seeing how the sounds blend. She must feel like she’s on Mount Olympus.
ST VINCENTS F AROUND AND FIND OUT PROCESS 😁😁😁
She’s such a dork, I love her so much lol
That's a pretty spot on description, yeah she really is lovely. Thanks for the link and here are the rest of hers on Reverb
I found when I searched that she has done a lot of these tip and tricks videos for various stations. Treasures. I'm looking forward to a Rick Beato interview (it has to come!?)
We should have an "Artist Corner" or something, to collect these in...
