Gospel Drummer is now available.. on sale until August 23..

Wow! Is it finally a drum app like Ez drummer on iOS ? Does it support our own midi beats?

It has built in grooves fills chops whatevers - I think that there is just one kit but there are multi-velocity samples round robins various mic positions (including overheads and such) an extensive mixer and midi in and out. It is no EZ Drummer. Leaning that way but no multiple kits or grooves to swap from a multitude of suppliers.

I got it and I like it, but I'm a sucker for acoustic kits.

I have no idea what gospel drums are but I'm sure it's like any genre. Rock drums, metal, indie whatever. But can someone say what gospel drums would be similar to? What sort of sound are they going for. To me they sound like a pretty dry kit, pretty tame. A bit suited to mellow music or indie styles. Would that be fair?

Seems there is no mention of the kits used. Also, is it just me or are the low toms distorting?

From the preset styles + grooves listed here, I think it gives you a reasonable idea of what this is suited for style-wise.. Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, Funk, Reggae, Afrobeats.. I’d say anything you could use a tight kit on.. I counted 17 ready-made kit templates that match up with these styles too..

Yeah that's a shame. Based on what I heard and your screenshot it's not for me. A shame really as the format is pretty great. And can't imagine they'll bring out any Hardcore, Thrash, NuMetal packs.
