    Quick question…

    Should I get one shot?

I picked it up recently and love it. As soon as I can afford I’ll pick up the metal expansion. I feed it with Lumbeat apps, mostly Rock Drummer, Pop and Future. Just this last week figured out the multi-out setup. I’m no expert but the sounds are top notch. I think you’ll like it. Put a little Punchlab after it. Aw yeah 👍

Let me give you a warning about the Unholy kit. If you are looking for modern metal kit you will be disappointed. Listen to Ghost recent album that’s the popish metal type of drum you get. Here’s an example of what I did with The Unholy drum vs Bogren digital kit.

TBH it was really long to get the Bogren kit build and requires 2 copies of One Shot.

Funny enough it reminds of Fenriz's most recent kit on Darkthrone's latest albums.

The first one or the second one ?

The One Shot drum kit. So with Helium you can browse midi drum beat libraries pretty easily? I'm trying to move away from Logic Pro and ditch their Drummer.

This is a video I did a while back for a friend asking how to add fills. It will give you a idea how I use Helium. Also I have imported my midi library in Helium.

    Thank you.

    My pleasure !

  • That lattice beta I linked to yesterday has a template for oneshot.

These are the midi beats I bought. Last year they had a big sale, every single pack for about 50$.

    https://ugritone.com/collections/midipacks

If anybody find any good midi beats I would be interested.

  • Fugue Machine Rubato is still 40% off until January 5th.

Cool... the metal midi pack sounds useful, but expensive yet... I can wait.

I don't know if these are anything to pay attention to, I just came across them looking for something else (as usual).
Maybe you should start a new thread with drum midi collection tips or something, to avoid polluting the sale thread any further if nothing else. 😃

edit: Oh to everybody talking about OneShot << this is the name, not one shot (something completely different) or oneshot. Typing police out..😅

Sadly, not worth even that price. If the creator made it app-priced, I’d probably buy it. Never will otherwise.

  • In the lumbeat midi notes section make it look like this:

Then in AUM route it to OneShot like this:

At least that’s how I do it (and understood your question)

Thank you so much, that’s gonna be really helpful! Maybe I didn’t explain myself properly, as I was writing while following my one-year-old as he alternated between speed crawling and drunkenly walking all over the house, but your routing will heal me greatly now that I’m actually discovering AUM. 😊

  • What DAW do you use and how do you send your beats to One Shot. If you look at my video above, I have my beats in Cubasis time line and I just copy them to my liking.

You could also send the midi from any Lumbeat app to One Shot. I can’t help you for that as I don’t own any Lumbeat app.

Thanks for your help!! My main DAW is Cubasis, although I’m starting to learn how to use AUM as well. Gonna watch your videos!!

I have to say it’s extremely powerful and cool. I was lucky enough to have it gifted to me by a friend. I probably would not have laid out $30 for it, but mostly because of my financial situation. Now that I have it, I have to say the sale price is not far off from the value imho. Sure, the Regular price is a little high for the iOS ecosystem, but the sale price isn’t too far off its value, at least imo.

Yea lattice is super cool. I definitely recommend trying the beta. Takes a minute to get used to it, but generates some cool beats.

I think 30 is fair, it's a amazing app despite some annoying functionality omissions and UI quirks. Definitely not for everyone, but for those who can click with it, it'll end up good value I'd say.

Agreed. Can you turn the note names on in the “piano roll” like in the first version? I wish you could do that. Other then that the curves help you get some really cool swing, and rhythm.
