iPad Pro Face ID - distance and angle - SOLVED

I'm planning to upgrade my iPad Air and am deciding between the iPad Pro M5 and the iPad Air M4, which should be released in the spring. My first choice is the iPad Pro, but I'm a little concerned about Face ID. I currently hold my iPad 80 cm away from my eyes and on a stand at an angle of about 70 degrees. Does anyone use Face ID with a similar setup? Will it work without any problems?

    If I was that far away from the iPad screen I wouldn't be able to see sh*t...
    ...I have a tilted desk-stand and at about ~50cm distance from the eyes it still works. It also works if the iPad laying down flat on the desk about the same distance...

    Only way to find out is to try it out in person...

    I can't speak for the iPad, but my iPhone 12 face ID works from a dash mount about 70cm from me and at about a 20 degree angle horizontally and 15 degrees below eye level ... at night ... when I'm not looking directly at it ... with glasses on. I'm always kind of surprised at that.

    Thank you, it looks positive. My eye level is 50cm above the bottom of the iPad.

    Yesterday, I bought an iPad Pro M5, and I can confirm that Face ID works flawlessly (80cm away from eyes) even in complete darkness. I also didn't expect to be so pleased with the nano-texture glass. Overall, it was a great purchase, and I hope it will last me for many years.
