FERAL-AUD.IO | GORILLA

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve just released version 1.2 of the GORILLA synth! 🦍🎛️
https://apps.apple.com/dk/app/gorilla-synth/id6756503672
Almost every refinement so far has come directly from feedback from this community - so thank you so much for that. It genuinely means a lot.

A community member was kind enough to record a video showcasing the newest version. In the clip, GORILLA is played through Loopy Pro and absolutely drenched in reverb:

But we’re not done yet!
I’m still actively developing the app, so please keep the feedback and feature requests coming - they really do shape where GORILLA goes next.

This post is simply a big thank you to this community ❤️
Your support and ideas are what make this project possible.

  • This thing is awesome. Love it.

Only niggle, filter feels a bit like steering a ship drunk - often ends up where I didn’t want it, and slow, fine manual adjustment is difficult to achieve.

I used to be a sailor by profession, so that could explain it :-)

I’ll look into it, thanks! Which device are you using?

Dw - it’s an operator fault - I presumed it was rotary, which worked then went wonky, rather than on the y axis, which works perfectly. I’m a builder by profession, which could explain.

Ha ha - that made me laugh. Glad you worked it out!

@FERALAUDIO - Do you have any recommendations for adjusting the gain on a custom preset? I've got a decent sounding string bass sound, but it's quite soft, and I've tried increasing the Master level on the EQ page, but the level is still below other presets. It's quite possible that it's a result of my choices of the settings within the preset variables, since that's not my area of expertise.

  • Hi! Try tweaking the ENV AMT up a little - moreover, a subtle resonance boost can elevate the sound a bit without changing it too much. But it is hard to tell without having heard it - share it, and we can take a look :-)
