Going to be jamming with a large boombox - do I need to be mindful of anything going in?

I’m going to a festival and might do some small room jams with a buddy’s sound system. It has RCA audio input or BT and my interfaces (irig pro duo IO and axe IO one) have either 1/4” outputs or headphones. Do I need to be mindful of adapters or iPad settings to not end up accidentally damaging the speakers?

  • It might be tough to use a boom box as your "PA system" - it really depends on the dynamic range and capabilities of the boom box.
I recommend you use the headphone output on the iRig Pro Duo and get a "1/8 inch to RCA" cable. The 1/4 inch outputs are balanced but the RCA inputs on the boom box are unbalanced (the headphone output is also unbalanced). Just make sure that the monitor output level on the iRig isn't set too high when you first try the connection.
