Is there an app that lets's you "roll" a sample and re-export?
Hi... I wondered if there are any apps that let you "roll" a sample (loop), so that your ideal start point could be at the start of the file, and then re-export? Sorry if that isn't so clear, but here is my use case... When using Gauss or SimpLoop i might end up with a nice organically created loop, but what I wish were the start of the loop might be 1/5th of the way into the sample. But maybe next time in Gauss I would like to be able to start Gauss playback from that point. I realize many sample-based apps that loop do let you set a sample start time and loop start/end, and that would solve my problem.... but I know Gauss doesn't have that and I feel like I have encountered at least one samplers that wouldn't allow setting of a loop start earlier than the sample start (which is what would be needed to achieve what I want to do).
And I'm not super schooled in all this stuff so I apologize in advance if I'm being clueless
Thank you for any help!

Loopy Pro let's you rotate a sample by either gesture or under control of a widget.
Not many editors have what I would call sample wrapping. Most let you set the start and end point, but don’t work with the sample as if it’s a continuous loop. You usually have to cut the starting section off and past it onto the end. Not too difficult, but not fluid either.
Loopy pro can easily rotate a sample in that way and then save it to a file. It can also export to the clipboard if the target app can paste from the clipboard. Loopy is probably overkill for this if you don’t already own it though.
Hopefully someone knows of another app for doing that.
Thanks @espiegel123 and @wim! I do have Loopy Pro but haven't dove in yet, so that's good to know that I could always do it there. Have definitely done that manual method in Logic a few times but it's a lot. :P
You can also do it without bothering to set up a slider control. A two-finger twist on the loop will rotate it as well. The it's just a quick swipe up on the loop to get to the export button for the loop.
btw, you can also do some of the reversing / slowing down stuff you can do in Gauss with Loopy.
I like using a rotary encoder.
Thanks again to the both of you! Yeah I think this will be a great solution.
Also just in general I am trying to build a few different looper rigsfor potential live use. Going to make several including Loopy Pro, Gauss, and SimpLoop. Also planning to shw these to a friend that I am trying to convince iPad is the looper hardware he needs.
Beat offset in an AUM file player channel can go forward or backwards in time the just re-record that same channel
Example
Create an empty AUM channel
Tap the + at the top
Look down the list to “File Player”
Tap on ” tap to load”
Load sample
Select options: Loop and also Sync
Look further down the list to “Beat Offset”
And use the arrows to adjust back or forwards by .25 (1/4) of a beat
Under AUM … (ellipses on the top left menu) CLOCK OPTIONS MENU
Select quantum sync
Press the R in the AUM Channel and REC BUTTON in the menu
It will then record your offset loop
There are a couple of ways to approach using Loopy as the offset editor.
More and more I think I need to just commit to learning Loopy Pro. I think it will fulfill all my wishes, and then some, considering how feature packed it is! (not to mention the great support from the community!)
