    thanks for your answer.

but i want to know how to route midi in logic pro ipad.

  • Yes you can just go to setting’s, project settings then sync then press the midi tab and anything connected via USB will show up there. You can also set up a track for each external unit via utility in the create new track menu just choose external instrument. Hope this helps.

    thanks @jackhead @Samu
    well, it's all internal midi.

track 1 is hosting model d synth and will output audio.
    track 2
    ...
    track n
have midi regions and should send their midi to track 1.

Feels a bit 'backwards' as Model D (AUv3) is already hosted on a Midi Track that outputs audio?!

If you need to record the audio at the same time as the midi add a send bus to the track with Model D and use the send bus as the input for an audio-track to record the audio...
...or just bounce down the Model D track with the midi to create an audio-track.

You also use the 'Internal Midi' option in the inspector and select which track the midi for a track comes in from.

What is the 'end result' you are after?
Record a midi-instrument direct to audio?

i want something like you get when you unpack a take folder.
after unpacking you have several tracks that all point to the same instance of instrument.
    several tracks, one instrument.

i think there is no way to create an unpacked take folder, other than recording takes?

    Hi rototom,
I understand exactly what your goal is, because I had have the same question a couple of weeks ago. And thanks to this tutorial from „SoundForMore“ the problem was solved. Sounds a bit odd that it seems to be the only way to archive it, but it‘s easy and works perfect. Here’s the link:

    Cheers

OK, that one, I use that 'trick' when I need Multi-Timbral KQ Dixie instances (up to 16 channels) but there I split by midi-channel after changing the midi-channel for a bunch of notes so I don't have to set the channel for new notes drawn on the 'sub-tracks'.

  • yea, that's exactly it!:) thanks @Ploe thanks @Samu
