People still use BRUSFRI?
Or is there a better way to clean up background noise and weak audio?
Looks like no updates on BRUSFRI for 4 years
Comments
Yes.
I use it all the time on my vocals.
It works great. Especially for the price. I recently had to do a free trial to izotope RX to clean up some audio. But it was real bad.
I did Izotope a few years ago, maybe rx8, I was not impressed. Trying to keep it on the iPad.
It hasn't needed any updates.
Brusfri does an excellent job removing consistent background noise. Not sure it does anything for weak audio, depending on what you’re meaning by that?
Dolby On also does a very good job if you want a free (non AUv3) option.

I use it sometimes when I make some beats or listen to music while traveling:
iPad microphone -> Brusfri -> Mixer (AUM, Drambo, LoppyPro). Depending on the environment I sometimes add an EQ or additional amplifier.
Using wired earbuds this gives me an undisturbed and noise free environment for the music. Brusfi can now be configured so that cabin announcements or someone talking to me get through. To top it put an envelope follower behind Brusfri and use it to reduce the music volume when someone is speaking.
Yes, every time when plugging in a guitar using iRig HD2.
Not quite the same as Brusfri, but here are some other very useful audio editors/tools for dealing with unwanted noises.
Media Assistant has spectral audio editing which can be seen here - does many other cool stuff with audio.
Meow by @SevenSystems has good noise reduction filters.
Brusfri is the GOAT
Maybe they should put out an update saying “everything’s fine here. Move along.”
Yes! I always use it on my vocals. I didn't realize there were no recent updates, but I don't think it needs any, IMHO.
Brusfri is hands down the very best at what it does, I use it on every video I make, it lives on my vocal chain all the time.
Brusfri is great, still use it for sure.
I also use this for voices... https://podcast.adobe.com/en/enhance The free version for all is very very good but if you have an adobe cloud sub (any sub/tier) you get to choose the weighting/blending. It is super sweet, particularly for really hurting stuff like olde timey radio dramas etc.
Brusfri all the way!!
Thanks for all the tips! Picked up Brusfri and Dobly On, ready to check them out.
