MIDI remapping app?
I’m looking for an AUV3 plugin that will allow me to “re-map” MIDI messages (specifically notes at this time). I’d like to avoid having to write scripts to do this (e.g. StreamByter and Mozaic). There seem to be two apps that can do this, but one (MidiFlow) seems to be abandoned with no support or any updates for quite some time, and the other (MIDIFire) has not been updated in 5 years and a very recent review in the App Store claims it doesn’t work in Cubasis (my DAW of choice) though I do a lot of work in AUM.
What I’m trying to do is to drive various drum plugins (e.g. Patterning 3, Beat Scholar, DigiStix 2, Hammerhead) without having to reprogram my pad controller or the mapping within each plugin.
Any suggestions/advice appreciated.
Thanks!

I know you said no Mozaic but looks like someone shared something on Patchstorage that you might hack into the thing you need: https://patchstorage.com/drum-re-mapper/
Might be worth a look
Re: MIDIFire, it is a solid app. It is standalone ; so I don’t know what the reviewer would mean that it doesn’t work in Cubasis. Sounds like a user misunderstanding about how it works.
There is a plugin called mfxconvert that lets you set up various kinds of translations.
I’m still using MIDIflow with no issues that I’ve noticed.
It does list an update from “1y ago” for “Compatibility improvements for recent iOS versions”
So, maybe not totally abandoned? 🤷♀️
Thanks! Sorry, I must have misread it (or looked at the wrong app). But you’re right, it was updated a year ago. Even with the in-app purchases (looks like the remapping is an add-on) it’s not ridiculously expensive. Thanks for letting me know it’s working for you.
Thanks. For some reason I didn’t catch that MidiFire isn’t an AUV3 plugin. I hadn’t seen mfxconvert. For $3 I might give it a try.
mfxConvert is very useful, though limited in some ways. Sometimes you need mfxStrip to compliment it, and other times you just can't do what's needed with either.
I'll just mention the free MIDI Messanger. It's quite powerful, though not as quick and easy to set up as the mfx plugins.
Thanks, wim!
I thought that sounded familiar. I installed that when I was looking for a MIDI monitor. Hadn’t really looked at its primary function! 😃 That looks worth fooling with. Not as complex as scripting.
