JWM - The Seven Wonders (Dark Ambient done in Koala)
Releasing this piece outside of my Jamuary stuff since it's really decent imho. For this piece, I used AUM to record Kiev, Beathawk, Iconica Sketch, and Megalit into Koala Sampler. I also downloaded a couple sounds from Freesound and imported those. In Koala Sampler, I pitched most everything down an octave, and used Freeverb and the live effects reverb. I time stretched the prayer bowl sound heard at the beginning of the piece. Then I recorded the entire performance "by feel".
After that, I mastered the recording in Cubasis 3 and popped it onto Soundcloud. Since this piece is longer than 10 minutes, it won't enter Soundcloud's algorithm, but sometimes I just want to create longer pieces of Ambient, algorithms be damned.
If you do decide to give this behemoth piece of music a listen, you can listen to it actively, or passively in the background, or even skim through it. Up to you, the listener, how you wish to consume.

My Jamuary fodder is super dead simple to make and usually takes under an hour. This was a bigger undertaking, and it took just under two hours. 🤣 I'm pretty quick with making Ambient, but the process is super relaxing compared to, say, making Dance Pop.
