Midi Fighter Twister and Loopy Pro integration question

edited January 18 in Hardware

Is there a way to add additional actions as integrated controls?

When going thru
Control Settings > Midi Devices > Midi Fighter Twister > Hold

The only options are
None, Toggle Play, Toggle Record, Clear

But I'd like Hold to be enable the Merge/Move (to Next Tapped donut) action

I know how to midi learn individual donuts, which would work, however here's my hope

I'm making 5 pages of 4x4 donut grids, two colors per page (vox, lead, bass, keys, perc. Two options of bus sends per section

The integrated controls capture each set of donuts to the Twister depending on the page I'm on. Using the side top and bottom buttons to scroll pages (ultimate endgame is screen-less performance)

Current integrated controls are good, just want to use Hold for Merge, and that effectively has me midi learning 80 objects (can and will do if need be)

Really just wanted to make sure I'm not missing an included feature that would save time

Or if it is a feature anyone else would find useful that I add it to the feature requests?

Thanks 😁

  • @PapaBPoppin : those are settings of automatic bindings. You aren’t required to use them. They are a convenience.

You can turn them off entirely using the switch in the settings panel or set Hold to none and set up your preferred bindings manually or with MIDI Learn.

Ok cool cool. I like the the default setup (which has Hold as Off), I was just wondering if there was a quicker way to apply Merge action to Hold on across donuts rather than having to go step by step and using profiles per page. Or if I could somehow add it to the Twister integrated actions and be done

I haven't done much deep hardware use with Loopy integration

  • @PapaBPoppin : you don’t need separate profiles per page if the pages are laid out the same.

Thank you for reminder about the This Page option. Completely evaded my troubleshooting attempts

The only thing changing page to page would be channel colors per page, layout will be the same otherwise

For an equivalent would be taking your layout - pg 1 is currently orange yellow, pg 2 would be blue and green

Would this still flow similar? Or would that break the potential? (Just woke up & getting ready to work or I'd run some tests myself)

  • @espiegel123 ok, learned that the “This page only/Active page” options are not available when midi learning directly to a donut

At least not that I’m seeing, unless it’s tucked somewhere I’m not looking

    🤷‍♂️

    Any thoughts towards that?

  • @PapaBPoppin : I forgot that the interface for this is a little confusing for clips.

When choosing the source and target, you will see that in the picker there are representations of each page an an All Pages representation. Choose the clip on All Pages for the binding to be to the clip in that position on the active page. Make sure not select a clip on a particular page.
