Best regular or macro keyboard/mouse
What’s your top choice?
Ideally for iPad-music apps and Procreate as well and on Mac-Logic Final Cut, Ableton etc
Obsessed with acquiring the Tourbox Elite

Or going somewhat more standard with the

Which iPad music apps and what are you hoping to do with the keyboard with them? They need to support a typing keyboard. Also, working with a mouse on iOS for music making apps often isn't a good experience in my experience. They're just not designed around that idea.
Beyond that, I see no reason why anything fancy is needed I get along just fine with an inexpensive foldable Bluetooth keyboard and a standard Bluetooth mouse.
I went through a phase of trying to find a pocket sized keyboard / trackpad combo I liked. They all had their shortcomings but were all OK too. The closest to what I was envisioning is this one: https://a.co/d/0c4vPhm. It's pretty good, but I ended up rarely using it.
Music apps with a typing keyboard and mouse aren't a great fit in many cases, if at all. Probably a lot better for other apps though.
Thanks for chiming in @wim
iPad music apps Loopy Pro first and foremost
Then Logic, Ableton Note, MTS, Ireal, Just chords anything that takes commands or maps.
It’s the timeline stuff that draws me in. To be able to control with a scroll wheel or the wheels on Tourbox. I tried the joystick style 8bit do
https://a.co/d/73ldPMK
And it’s pretty good but not ergonomic at all and loses connection a bit too much.
On the Logitech Mx keyboard the backlight I know may help my aging eyes and the MX series shortcut system on Mac anyway is a draw and the scroll wheel on iPad I see works horizontally.
It’s a fun and deep wormhole for sure
Loopy Pro has about the best typing keyboard support there is, so you're good there. I can't speak for any of the rest.
You linked to the cute little mini game controller from 8BitDo. Is that the one you called "joystick style"?
I couldn't resist getting one of those after seeing it mentioned on the Drambo forum. I couldn't find much use for it tbh, but I'm very fond of it all the same. 😎
Right on
Ya that joystick 8bitdo is great. Especially with Loopy
It’s like a Loopy TV remote from the couch
Or one day attached to a guitar strap one day.
The d-pad on that is similar to the tourbox which seems over the top in price but so desirable.
Probably should at least wait for Namm to see if any more crossups like the latest Yamaha mix of stream deck and midi.
Have just got a streamdeck and that’s what started my keyboard macro and control obsession. It even does midi now. But not iOS.
deeper I go
Ha ha! I'm the opposite at this point. I have a literal drawer full of such controllers that I thought were going to be awesome. Never use any of them. 😂
I thought I was cured until I saw my tiny 8Bitdo little buddy. Now I never use it except for occasional dips into Mario Kart 64 and to keep me company like a little Furby or something.
I love 8bitdo! I use their numpad and a few controllers. They make good stuff.
My keyboards aren’t much special - I have a wireless Logitech BT keyboard that can switch between 3 devices but pretty much just controls my Mac. If I’m using my iPad I use the Magic Keyboard for
My “mouse” though is the Logitech Trackball S. Fantastic for ergonomics. My wrist pain has disappeared since getting it.

Yup 8bitdo for the price, hard to beat.
And the MX series looks great
If I go that way I’d do the mx keys S
And the mx master 4
But that trackball model does looks nice!

I’ve also always wanted a Ploopy
Oh 8bitdo is an addiction
Got: NES30, FC30, SNES30 Pro mk 1, fight stick, 2x micros
And for Xmas about 10yr ago I picked up 4x Amazon brand Xbox 1 controllers for family night, this Xmas I upgraded to 4x 8bitdo Ultimate Cs (bt wired or dongle) and they are TOITE! Hall effects with an extra macro button at the triggers
Perfect companion pieces for the deck
--
On the bt ipad front, I just picked up one of these for xmas as well
I this this offa AliExpress:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNviMbn
(The $33 white key bt model)
Haven't used it yet, but I plan on both video/graphics work and Loopy Pro integration when I can sit down with it
Thanks for the responses everyone.
Still on the fence.
True all the 8bitdo controllers do look fun especially the console with the arcade buttons. I could see trying others.
And wow @FizzyLizzy27 that ploopy looks epic.
And deeper grows this wormhole, what a fine wormhole
