Definitely curious!
Wow.. Casio dipping toes back into music tech again?
I still have a CZ 1000 (in bubble wrap haha ) in the cupboard,
I really had fun with the FZ-1 sampler back in the day. It made the Akai's look old at the time ! 16 bit sampling, waveform editing on-screen, HD Floppy Disks ( $5 each though! ), aftertouch keyboard, 60 secs sample memory, an OS that allowed samples to be used and edited independently in multiple patches at the same time, 16 part multi-timbral assigned to 8 outputs, and a really neat built in 32 sine wave additive synth module which was independent of the sampler. Also supported MIDI sample dump so I could download samples for editing on a computer, and reupload the result.
Just didn't catch on. I think the name "Casio" had a lot to do with it. They gave it a good shot, releasing a rack version or the sampler, and some better specified CZ synths. But Akai remained the standard. Even Roland and Yamaha couldn't gain a foothold. ( the Roland S-750 was a great sampler ).
Different world today. Perhaps Casio can squeeze this new unit into a watch?
This. Looks. Cool.
Looks rather interesting.
Looks like Casio are on fire... another overlooked NAMM Tease

Looks like a hardware version of Koala.
It looks cool but from a practical perspective it looks like a menu diver sofa companion.
Looks like fun to use. I may give it a miss though since I do have Koala Sampler which does everything I need a sampler to do.
