How do you feel about Drum Perfect Pro Auv3 as accompaniment for demos

I've been really happy using the latest Pop Drummer from Lumbeat as AuV3 in Loopy Pro as drum accompaniment as I work on demos...Sounds good for my purposes and "just works" without tinkering and is about as interesting an auv3 basic acoustic drum accompaniment as I've found for working on demos...I understand Drum Perfect Pro has come a long way in this regard recently and wondering your thoughts on considering it for doing similar thing. I know its historical strengths are in the sophisticated uses beyond the above, but wondering what you think of using it in this way as an alternative to Pop Drummer, regardless of price which I'll consider after hearing any thoughts on the above...I have noticed a lot of posts saying how complicated DPP is, but all of those are prior to the recent release that focuses on some of these out-of-the box, simpler accompaniment features that were added more recently to DPP, so wondering if things have changed and any thoughts you might have on how it would suit my specific use...Thanks

    I really like the kits and instruments, but I can’t say I’ve figured out how to properly use the jam feature. I’d say it’s still on the complicated side. Pop Drummer has such a straightforward layout and workflow that makes it easy to get a groove going. I got most of the kits but this dropped off hard for me after getting the OneShot expansions and a good chunk of Beathawk’s sound library. This seems like a deep piece of software, but I’m still on the newer side of building kits and working with samples. If Beathawk starts to feel limiting in capabilities this is a good step up.

    The standalone and AUv3 player have opposite problems. Standalone can be a bit overwhelming and dense while the AUv3 player is very bare bones.

    Admittedly I’ve put a lot more time into learning the Lumbeat drummers and I’m still learning new things in them all the time. I think DPP could potentially be a better one size fits all style wise.

    If you want GRANULAR, expressive, and detailed drums it's hard to beat DrumPerfect. HOWEVER, gods its hard to get a basic self programmed thing into it.

    I dont think, but someone PLEASE correct me, that there is a midi import function to DrumPerfect.

    I do LOVE it for all the articulations, kits, and - as I have said granularity that NO other drum app has, but for roughing out a demo you don't need it unless its really delicate (in velocity and timing) or highly complex (like metal drums with polymeter or polyrhythm)

    DrumPerfect Pro does have MIDI import and export in the standalone app. It's not exactly straightforward, and the manual's not a whole lot of help.

    I do wish they'd actually release the demo they showed... how long ago?... of the AU player doing more useful things. I don't remember the specific context, but someone showed a capability in response to a question, and when pressed, responded that what they'd shown wasn't actually available yet.

    It's not as "deep", but I find that Octachron gets me where I need to go, with a lot less pain.

    If you mean import of midi files, of course it is available, in song page ( Song Load ). Just drag and drop your midi files in DPP Song folder ( Files app ), then opening Song ( Load ) you see a switch to display and audition your midi files before import. Documented in the user manual.
