Blend between 2 samples with mod wheel or CC?

Good day all,

Is there an app where its possible to blend between 2 different samples by using the mod wheel or assigned knob etc on a controller?
Was looking for a sampler app or alternative that I dont know about.
Xinamatix can do this but was not sure if you can use your own samples in that app?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • I would set up two sample apps in AUM and then automate the Volume Sliders with up going up from 0 to 127 while the other goes down from 0 to 127. You can tweak these start/end values to suit the results. AUM automation of the volume sliders and any other parameter in the app is really easy and works with MIDI Learn.

AudioLayer can do this and can also load Xinematix libraries.

  • @espiegel123 thank you for the reply. I guess I need to look at the manual for that then unless you can share how if you have done this before?

  • @McD thank you for the reply. I will consider this for what I am trying to do.

  • Here’s an example using Sintala and AUM:
    Load Sintala on a track
Midi map a cc (eg cc1) to sample pad 1 volume, then midi map the same cc to sample pad 2’s volume, but when in aum’s midi map screen, double tap the map curve to invert it.
This will use one cc to basically crossfade between the two samples.

It’s a good technique to know about in general.
