Logic Score Editor

edited February 8 in Logic Pro

Logics name was once Notator. Does anyone here misses the Logic score editor as I do? I really think that iPads are the perfect formfactor for an allround music computer. Everything from Logic desktop is in Logic iPad - but the score editor. Makes the whole thing alot less 'round' for me. Audio to MIDI and audio/MIDI to score would make it perfect for me.

  • I agree. The missing score editor is a huge flaw. For me, and probably a lot of others, regular music notation makes more sense than the piano roll. It’s so much easier to figure out what is going on, and to proofread. It would make logic so much more useful if it had a score editor.

  • I’ve been looking for a midi to score editor (and visa versa)

There is one daw on iOS that has a midi score presentation but I don’t remember the name of it

Not that I’m going to score my next country song or trance symphony but with the apple pencil I too thought notation would have been in Logic ios on it’s release. It just makes sense to notate with the pencil and notation has been in the desktop version for awhile. Apple often moves in mysterious ways.

I bought that pencil to doodle in procreate, jot down quick notes And at the time logic was not out, but I thought one day, when it does come out, I can notate. If I hadn’t gotten the pencil logic would have had notation from the start.

There's one called Symphony Pro for iOS that let's you convert back and forth. I'm not an expert on notation software so I don't know how it compares with Logic or Cubasis notation abilities.
