Mod wheel is CC #1. Custom isn’t needed for it.
Can you say more about your aftertouch message?
By aftertouch do you mean channel pressure (mono) or polyphonic?
The first nibble for Poly Aftertouch is . Then the channel nibble then the value. For channel 1, the first byte is A0. For channel 5, A4, etc. This is followed by a note number and a value.
Are you sending a particular aftertouch value for a particular note?
Channel Pressure’s first nibble is D followed by the channel followed by the value.
If you're sending a custom message,
xxcan be used as a placeholder for the value of a slider or knob. When the message is sent, the value will be put into the message.A custom message such as
D0xxwill send channel pressure on MIDI channel 1 from a slider or knob.Sorry if this is off-topic, but while I have it in my head, here's a setup for a slider widget to send a note and channel pressure:
OK, I made a mistake in thinking and now I understand that "after touch" is usually relevant per note played. I have now placed the corresponding sound-modulation to the "mod wheel" in the receiving synth.
Thanks for the help and clarification.
