Effect Tails With Loopy Pro Sequencer
I have been trying to get effect tails in the sequencer for about three hours now and figure its time to ask for help. At the end of each clip in the sequencer the effect tails are not there and this is very noticable at the end of the song in particular when after the last clip is played there is an abrupt silence. Gemini could not help me with this and the tails section in the manual was not enlightening either so does anyone have the solution for this? Thank You in advance. Mark

What do you mean by FX tails? FX recorded in the loop, or FX being played through from the loop?
Did you turn on Outro for the clip?
For example https://youtube.com/shorts/b4aTO9SdUOE?si=xewAVn4cHJX7Tj1f
That is exactly what I need the only thing is when I open up that menu for the clips I don't have those options for INTRO, OUTRO or PLAY TAIL IN LOOP. My menu starts with VOLUME, BALANCE and PITCH. all that other stuff just is not there.
Oh man I am so close!!!!
"What do you mean by FX tails? FX recorded in the loop, or FX being played through from the loop" - the effects are being added to the loop while it plays: reverb, delay and compression from the AUX bus.
If you don’t see those options, it would appear that the clips were not recorded with tail recording on.
@solarpoweredrecords : wim asked earlier if you are recording the tails in your clips or trying to capture effect tails from the mixer?
If you could make a screen recording and post a link to it, it might help us help you.
I am to play my dry clips and have reverb added to them through the aux bus now - I still dont understand how to access the "play tail in loop" option but i am sure its something to do with how I am recording the clip and that is probably just my lack of comprehending all the recording options which is OK for now so my problem is solved and I will just have to keep recording and learning. Anyways my head hurts from all the reading and problem solving and I wanted to say that I appreciate all the help and responses and I am able to keep going now. Thank You everybody!
If you aren’t trying to capture tails in your loop, you don’t need the tail recording.
I must not understand what your problem is. Please create a screen recording demonstrating the issue, upload it somewhere (such as YouTube as unlisted) and post a link.
Are you hearing the reverb when you play your project?
What is the exact situation where you don’t hear the tail?
I have the "record tail" feature turned OFF in the recording settings - this is from my inexperience. That is what happened and why the "play tail in loop" doesn't appear in any of my clips. I know better now and will do better in the next song. I am uploading part of the song so everybody can hear what a transition sounds like when a rookie like me doesn't turn on the "record tail" feature. : (
Please make a screen recording and show your mixer in extended mode before you start play back so that we can see how you have things set up. Hearing the audio won’t provide the information we need.
You don’t need to record the clips wet (the reverb in the loop). You can send the loops through reverb either via a bus or as inserts in the color channel or on the master.
This is my first try at breaking the entire song up in sections and using the sequencer. Unfortunately I did not understand the effect tail ends.
I use Loopy Pro as a DAW for writing and recording, mixing and mastering my ideas but I do not use it as a live looper so that is my experience with this wonderful tool which might be a little different than the most users here.
I am pretty sure I understand the effects and the sequencer now so the next composition should be improved.
@solarpoweredrecords : looks like you have figured it out. So, yeah, if you record wet, turn on tail recording.
Another way of approaching it is to record dry and have your reverb and delay on a bus and send to the bus from the input channels and color channels. That gives you a chance to fine-tune the levels for the final mix down.
Awesome - I am coming around the learning curve!
