DynaSinth - "Dynamic Sinethesizer" for iOS & macOS released

Howdy Folks,

After a long (perhaps too long for some...) period of releasing delay plugins, I fancied doing something a bit different... :)

DynaSinth is an original design based on sine wave oscillators, that uses its own output to modulate parameters dynamically. This can produce interesting sonic results that would be very difficult, if not impossible to achieve using traditional fixed LFOs and envelopes. That's because:

As the sound changes, so does the modulation amount, which changes the sound, which affects the modulation amount...

This means DynaSinth is well-suited for atmospheric evolving pad type sounds that quite literally respond dynamically to your playing. However, DynaSinth isn't just about pads. Because of its sine wave DNA, DynaSinth can also produce more traditional sounds such as pianos, flutes, organs, subby basses and even kick drums!

Here's a little 8 track demo choon I made:

Available now for $2.99 as a universal iOS and macOS (Intel & Silicon) purchase:

Hope you find it of interest!

Cheers, -Rob

  • Really enjoying dinasynth- was really impressed with the bass preset in auto bass.

B ooooooooooooooo M. Clean, no clipping.

I loaded up 4 instances and Euclidean Sequencer and it sounds terrific. You can use dinasynth in a ton of scenarios.

  • It sounds lovely!

  • Hey @Rob_Jackson_Music - congrats on the new release (I feel like I could say that once a week!)

Feature request for your apps. Now that you have the tasty Randomize button as standard it would be amazing if you could tap a parameter name and lock it from randomization. For example sometimes I want to keep the envelopes snappy but just hear what different sounds I can generate as a new jumping off point so will always manual change the Attack Decay after every click of the Randomize button.

    Thx 🙏
    Gus

Cool. A Rob app that I can use for bass. Been waiting for that. All kinds of other sounds too. Nice. Can't wait to try it.

Talking in short sentences. Wonder why. Missing pronouns. Weird. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It also sounds really cool with GRFX, the evolving nature of the DynaSinth sounds percolate the grains explosively or as smoothly as you want. Combo reminds me of spacewalk a bit.

    Rad!

  • Sounds beautiful, thank you Rob

Many thanks for the lovely comments folks - much appreciated.

@egobeats - that sounded great! Thanks for sharing. I think DynaSinth definitely sounds best through a good reverb / delay. The onboard reverb is very basic / CPU-lite, but you can do some interesting stuff by dynamically modulating the send level.

@gusgranite - parameter locking request noted. I think it's come up at least once before in discussions here.

I really like the bass preset

I think you meant “Spacecraft”? As in the granular synth?

    No spacewalk the midi generator.

Posted more on base channel my other channel is capped.

  • Great track to demo the app @Rob_Jackson_Music i was digging it, plus it really showed the versatility of DynaSynth.

    Congrats on another successful release!

  • @Rob_Jackson_Music and DYNAsynth teaching peeps the basics of additive synthesis (layers of sine waves - see Fourier transformations) and some wave folding like modulation?

Regardless of my assumptions I’m in

  • One thing is for sure - this will be the most misspelled release of the year 🤣

  • I dunno why, but the spelling disturbs me a bit.

Even Farcebook AI is getting the spelling wrong. Or does it think it knows better... :/

    And all lowercase ios?! :D

  • DynaSineth might be slightly less nutty to get your head around, though maybe it’s worse 😅

I’m sure you tried it on for size and went without the E for good reason though…

Haha, FarceBook, that's definitely how I'll be spelling it from now on, thanks for that.

I think DynaSine would have been a good name.

    Yeah that’s the most elegant

    How about Sine Language?

I saw Rob Jackson release and bought it without thinking. Haven't had a play but can't wait! Loving the demos above and all of Rob's work!

  • Making up names for these things is my favourite part of the whole plugin development methodology.

Please don't deny me my one remaining pleasure in life... :D

    Thanks @Cambler!

  • I am really enjoying the ethereal atmospheres this thing is able to produce.

Here is 4 instances (randomized) in Euclidean Sequencer (also randomized )

    Really great stuff Rob.

Gotcha. So you’re using Polybud to produce chords in that context then, I take it?

  • In that instance, yes. I've used a number of midi generators. I really like using Euclidean with several instances the best. I've been using Piano Motifs today because of the update and having 3 instances (ch 1,2,3) in piano motifs has been rewarding

I kinda wish this one had glide.

[edit] No, I really wish this one had glide.

  • I buy all @Rob_Jackson_Music plugins because at the price they're released at, it would be rude not to. I'm liking this one.

    Same, on both points.

  • All his synths layer so well with others! Try this into a load of ambience with any of his others on another track and just keep clicking random on each. So much beautiful fun!
