Roland TB-303 App best one
Best tb 303 clone out there is?
As close to original as it can gets
Gracias

Rebirth was best but no longer available. Fortunately I still have it. I tend to use Pure Acid and Troublemaker now though. I also use TB3 and DeeAcid on occasion. They all export MIDI which comes in handy. If I only had one to choose I’d say Pure Acid which includes 303 and Roland based drum machine
I've never been in the same room with a genuine TB-303, but I used to have a Behringer TD-3, and for my money Pure Acid sounds just like it, to the point where you can get really close to a given sound by visually setting the knobs to the same positions. So that's been my go-to for "real 303" sound. There are a ton of apps in this category these days, including some (like Troublemaker) that don't really try to be an exact 303 replica but are still a lot of fun. TV3 sounds great too and is a lot of fun. The rest in the category, I can take or leave.
Pure acid sounds great but that interface is a major challenge to learn.

Strictly IMO:
True but some good tutorials on YT
Prepping for "303 Day" next Tuesday are we? I love Transister Bass in FLSM, and I love Troublemaker and Pure Acid. I don't know which is closest to "that 303 sound" though. 😅
@jwmmakerofmusic it just pop up in my head tonight, foreshadowing bulb lightened in the sea of digital nerve, or something 😉
Thank you guys!
I went with Pure Acid, and it’s great so far apart from it very often crash. Even when loaded in aum as only conponent. And in my more advanced passage which takes 50-60 cpu it’s doing the same
@jimpavloff (? Am I directing the maker?)
I’m on iPad Pro 10.5 iPadOS 16.5
Why is it crashing so often?
I've never had a single crash of Pure Acid. Ever. 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah, I've never had a crash from Pure Acid either. But, I'm glad you went with that.
It's a great app.
That’s odd.. I don’t know what might be causing it. I will try more in the morning. Might the full disc be a problem? I’m running out of space on this 32gb piece of .. or is it just an ignorant speaking?
but hey, no other app did crash in aum
Low disk space can create all kinds of oddities. May or may not be it.
Have you tried rebooting the device? What buffer size are you using?
The sequencer for the bass and the sounds couldn’t be easier. As for the drums you can’t sequence them with Octachron or similar.
EDIT —> CAN sequence them
+1 But the 303 sequencer does have midi out!
Probably not for the purists, but for my acid needs, I like to use Rosetta Bassline to drive Beepstreet's Dagger. Dagger's filter sound amazing.
@wim 2048 buffer size. Will try to use it more today and see if it still crash
Troubelmake, and troublemaker modded. I forgot what that mod was called but it was kinda dirty and added some popular ideas(I think). Pure Acid, and for a bit far out but with psudo 303 slides etc is ripplemaker, but thats the craziest. Rebirth, man I know im forgetting some. I pretend to be a 303 aficionado but really I just collect and love them all.
DeeAcid by Dotec Audio is very fun and good sound for me😎🔊🔊
Troublemaker bram bos
Korg Chicago
I've definitely seen reports by other users of apps that worked just fine otherwise misbehaving when using 1024+ buffer sizes. I think @brambos mentioned something about these buffer sizes not really being that helpful, but I don't remember exactly what it was.
Transistor Bass in FL Studio is not much good TB303 emulation.. it behaves and sounds very different .. It’s definitely usable but all parameters behave very differently than on original 303
Pure Acid is fantastic.. almost as good as Audiorealism Bassline (which is on iOS too but nit AUv3 and probably doesn’t work on latets iOS anymore)
Troublemaker is - a bit different, not exactly precise clone - but still I simply like it.. There is something about this little thing which just makes me like it a lot.. sometimes i even preffer it before PureAcid even through PA is technically more precise clone :-)
Yes, I have to admit I am absolute insane zealot when it comes to 303 🤣🤣
That’s probably the issue. Developers often overlook adding that large of buffer size support.
True. But I still like it a lot. Something about it scratches a weird itch for me.
That makes me a heretic then I guess. 😂
If we ever meet. It will be your sacred duty to slay me for my blasphemies. That is understood. I do not hold it against thee.
Totally legit. For my money, Rozetta is the real secret weapon, that sequencer can make a lot of things sound like a 303
Imaginando's TV3 always surprises me in good cozy way
Yes very good😎🔊
Not too keen on the sound of this one, but i pulled it out again after you mentioned it. I just found it’s great for driving Pure Acid - I really like the % complexity option. Then of course you can simply press ‘write’ on Pure Acid and it’s in - ready for any fine tuning etc. Very nice indeed 😗
@dendy is always right about 303s. I also happen to agree with him.
I'd be interested in @dendy's thoughts on this: https://loopmaster.xyz/tutorials/tb303-from-scratch
I can hear what's wrong with it but I can't articulate it.
