Damn. Only discovered her music in the last couple of years. Amazing artist.
Sad to hear this news. In an effort to up my own game, I've been studying some different approaches to producing ambient music and I was just listening to one of her pieces for inspiration last Saturday afternoon.
Through her early lo-fi tape experiments to her droning Moog & Buchla driven compositions, she helped press down the early grass to forge a well-worn path all ambient, experimental and lo-fi electronic artists stroll down today. She eventually settled on the Arp 2500 as her workhorse synth in service of her "Dream Gazing" approach to environment and musicality but actually started in Musique Concrete using tape feedback techniques.
Eliane Radigue was a bona fide pioneer in electronic music exploration. She caught a lot of flack for her approach but always stayed true to her vision. If you produce anything ambient or experimental in nature, use field recordings or tape feedback/drones, you would do well to avail yourself of some of her work.
