Logic - Stupid floaty level meters "fix"

Have you been plagued by stupid floaty level meters that bear little relation to the actual audio output of that channel in the latest version of Logic? I just stumbled on a weird fix - tap the settings icon at the top of the level meter and it goes back to being sensible. You don't need to change the settings at all, just tap that thing and then close the dialog it opens. It even seems to survive across app restarts.

  • I keep finding the stupidest bugs in the latest version of Logic. "The specified number of tracks could not be created. Reduce the number of tracks to create, then try again." - I can't reduce the number of tracks to create from ONE.

  • It's also seemingly impossible to stop Logic from running in the background now too.

Try resting Logic settings under General, Settings Apps, Logic...
...my background audio is definitely turned off.

On the other hand feel free to bombard Apple with feedback.
It's a good 'therapy venting session' even though they almost never reply...

  • I'm definitely going to be bombarding them. For some reason it grates even more when paying by subscription. Fingers crossed Apple's 3 day event next week is going to be spent announcing nothing but Logic bug fixes.

It’s unusable with my audio interface (Axe IO) which works fine with all the other hosts. But in Logic any time I use transport controls it wigs out. Pressing back to restart a song will cause the interface to momentarily shut off, and also resets any tracks being previewed.
