Frondescentia

A second track inspired by the imminent arrival of Spring.
Frondescentia is an old botanical term, from modern Latin.
Its origin is the Latin word for leaf, “frons”, and it refers to the “leafing season”, or the time of the year when plants first unfold their leaves.

  • Love those opening sounds. Listening on SoundCloud now. Are those presets, or did you apply some effects to create them? I’m hearing some subtle backwards magic happening. I’m also hearing some spoken word, literally. I’m listening to that gravelly voiced, old Irish poet reciting “Sound of Silence” in the background as this plays. It’s both extremely intense and hauntingly mellow at the same time, if that even makes sense.

  • Thanks for retrieving this one @Paulieworld 👍
    Your hearing is working well…
    luapselREVGUITAR is the backwards sound.
Felt & Fog (Brian Eno’s Fave) may be the voice?
Korg Prototype 8 (Pad Pluck) is the final sound other than some Roli Noise percussion.
All are free Decent Sampler / PianoBook sounds.
It’s interesting how much difference the right sounds make.
I had struggled with a variety of different sounds using 3 instances of Piano Motifs, all using the new Experimental Accomp Style feature that Fernando introduced in 4.107 on 21st Feb and had failed miserably to come up with anything. I changed the sounds and bingo, immediate smash hit material !

I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet, but just took in a small sample of what you’ve created here, and what I hear is beautiful! @GeoTony
I’ll try to give a proper listen later, in the car, on my way home tonight.

Edit: well, I forgot to listen on my way home last night, but did give this a spin this morning while making my coffee, and taking to dog out for a walk in the morning mist. Man! what a calming, serene vibe this has! I’m trying to put into words the emotions this is tugging on, uhmm, maybe one of “hope” and “peace”..

  • Hey Tony, nice and relaxing. Well done.

  • Thanks for letting me know about the recent update.
    I will get it tonight.
PM just keeps getting better and better.

  • Just listened now, but better late than never. Beautiful Celtic sounds, I really like the subdued and modestly kept atmosphere of the song, I feel like I am in the high Scottish north.

  • Time is just an illusion @Frenq 👍
We are in Scotland at the moment so expect to post something in the next few days 😊

  • Was your Scottish holiday? just as good, calming and relaxing as Frondescentia? Then you are perfectly rested for the next track, frenq

  • This, I like...

  • I see you found the Scottish holiday post @Frenq 😊
    Thanks @lasselu 👍
