Voxomat by quantovox (Released)
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6757408483
Voxomat adds a unique human-meets-machine character to your tracks.
It transforms simple basslines into talkative, morphing sequences, while offering endless possibilities for non-pitched sounds like drums.
Higher-pitched inputs can trigger complex harmonic shaping effects – the resulting inharmonic textures and FM-style intermodulation deliver a grit typical of Lo-Fi aesthetics. Conversely, these frequency modulation effects can also be smoothed out by using harmonically dense inputs, such as overdriven tones or overtone-rich sawtooth-based sounds.
Using the plugin's modulation options in parallel opens wider sonic possibilities – for example, adding powerful chiptune effects to any source or mimicking the aggressive, harmonically shifting "tearing" sound of hard-synced oscillators.
Based on the Ringotron engine, Voxomat utilizes a hybrid modulation architecture combining audio-rate modulation with resonators.
FEATURES:
• Complex rhythmic movement driven by an array of synced LFOs for deep, malleable modulation
• Integrated envelope follower for responsive modulation
• Touchscreen-friendly modulation sequencer for pitch FX control
• Powerful resonant vocalizer for synth basses and all overtone-rich bass timbres
• On unpitched inputs like drums, effects range from whispers to glottal textures and stronger vocal glitches
• For pitched inputs, higher registers can more easily uncover robotic qualities as complex frequency relationships yield unique, inharmonic textures
• The user interface is designed to blend algorithmic automation with tactile control, turning the effect into a responsive performance tool
• Each preset features a set of primary performance controls pre-mapped for automation and expressive live play
PLEASE NOTE:
• An AUv3-compatible host is required to use this app
• The plugin is designed as an audio processor and is not a MIDI note event processor or sequencer in its current form
• Suported sampling rates: 44.1, 48, 96 kHz
Details:
Universal: Yes
Minimum OS version: 16.0

Is there any example demos to listen to?
Downloaded the beta. Having fun experimenting with things other than bass or percussion through it for rhythmic effects. Off to purchase!
Are there any benefits to preordering this instead of just waiting to buy it once we are able to hear it?
Description feels a bit like B.A's Humanoid, is it though? Anyone knows?
Some quick preset demos:
EDIT: replaced the temporary playlist URL with a direct link to youtube
bigups Zoltan!:)
I love it.
it reminds me of Senor Coconut
and Cal Tjader:)
I’m sure I could find a space for it @ £4:99. It might get a bit repetitive would be my concern. I’d like to try it with some modulation though - that might spice it up a bit.
Ah - there’s the answer - the price has doubled now it’s out. Don’t remember seeing this strategy before.
Does this refresh your memory?
Well... maybe it's marginally better than the 275% increase of the recent highly successful preorder campaign, probably the biggest one in iOS music app history so far? Although the cutoff date was handled differently this time, but that is the rule rather than the exception.
But yes, some uncharacteristic things going on. Never had a FOMO-inducing intro sale since 2021, believe it or not (and the streak is upheld, because this wasn't one technically, either).
This concludes this little excursion into the demented world of LiMiTeD tImE OfFeRs... Maybe there will be more. Now please disperse (or give some love to the only disperser plugin on iOS, the previous release before Voxomat)
😀 That’s fine, whatever it is you are on about, it’s your call. Either demos released longer than a day or so before release or an indication somewhere that the price would double at the moment of release would be a better strategy for fostering goodwill I would think. Many people here are heartily sick of buying new apps based on description alone.
Our robots will never leave us. They will never abandon us. They will caress our ears with their tinny, metallic voices. They will sing for us. Always 😂
btw - I did ask this very question a couple of posts above your entry with the demos in it but perhaps you never bothered reading it - or if you did you then either ignored it or decided it didn’t merit a reply.
Harsh
When I read "preorder" I naturally assumed the price would go up on release day, so I preordered it. That's been the pattern I've been seeing for the past few years. Interesting release: can't wait to dig into it a bit this weekend.

Nudge nudge, wink wink.

But I guess you're right... In the "constant pitch" bank, there are only two presets that are really woody. But that's what the frequency knob is for, though the plugin does have a given Lo-Fi character that can only be changed within some range (but the input sound, down to the type of passage also plays a big role).
@zoltan
It's really good. I should have grabbed it on pre-order. Really digging it brother.
Great detailed Doug's demo is here:

Fair comment guv'nor.
You are right @gusgranite it was harsh. @zoltan kindly reached out to me so we were having a bit of a chat. I had no idea about the various complexities that require to be navigated and timed - so it turns out in my ignorance I hastily jumped to a conclusion quite erroneously for which I have apologised.
Nice one. Glad you guys connected 👍
Yeah it was a perfect storm of difficulties in this release... from eye-watering app review delays to managing a precarious last-minute change (hence the initial 1.0.1 version) that necessitated re-recording demos... all good now.
Loving it so far ! Threw it on Kroenecker and epic hilarity ensued
@zoltan one thing I did run into..as a joke I put it on the notoriously sh*tty GarageBand guitar, and the sound on that channel immediately quit. It’s probably for the best lol and I’m sure there’s a technical reason why (involving GarageBand) but I was morbidly curious
(removed - see the next comment)
Actually... could you load up RealPhase or Ringotron for that guitar? Does it say something about the sampling rate being 22050 Hz? Spatializer can also be used, but that has a rather subtle indicator for it.
I’ll check tonight when I get off work
Ringotron says “unsupported sampling rate”, and yes that’s the sample rate listed . Realphase immediately crashes and then get a message saying “failed to load”
Thanks, as I suspected. That's the reason. Voxomat will not support 22050 Hz sampling rate setups (as per the app description). Will have a nicer user messaging about that, though... (will also check on RealPhase, should handle it nicer but that too has the same requirements).
